In this private 4-hour excursion, you’ll visit some of the capital’s most time-honored traditional markets, savor quintessential Greek treats both sweet and savory such as loukoumas and cheese pie. Discover a variety of herbs, spices, and the globally renowned Greek olives, olive oil, and, of course, the souvlaki. You’ll also partake in some of our most beloved daily customs, like savoring a Greek coffee or a shot of ouzo accompanied by a variety of small dishes (meze) in some of the oldest locales in Athens’ historical center.

Best Tour of Athens - Our experience was nothing short of wonderful. Blanca took time to explain what each experience was and why it was so important to the people of Greece. She explained how to determine which olives were from the region. She was so comfortable to be with. We even determined that we had similar up brings even though we were from two totally different parts of the world. We learned, laughed, and left as friends.

A memorable food tour - Bianca was a wonderful guide, giving us a solid historical background for Athens in addition to sharing delicious foods of the region, a walk through the city streets, and an overview of the fantastic street art. She was personable, knowledgeable, and exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend her food tour.

Wonderful Greece cuisine private tour - Our guide, John, was excellent. He took us around the northern and Western sides of the acropolis. We stopped at several spots that he knows to eat local food. We also went to several churches and he told us about the history of Greece and it's churches. It was a wonderful experience.

Must do food experience - This was a 5 star experience. Our guide Bianca was knowledgeable and fun. We loved experiencing all the food delights of Athens. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Athens first time and wanting fresh local cuisine.

Bianca was an amazing tour guide! - This was, by far, our favorite tour while in Greece. Bianca was our guide. Not only did she take us to places to try authentic and delicious Greek foods and teach us about the Greek history of Athens, but had us laughing the entire team. If you take this tour, ask for Bianca!

Book this food walking cultural tour! Ask for John! - This was a fantastic food tour. We learned so much from our knowledgable guide John regarding Athen’s history, culture, different eras and how these impacted the wonderful authentic food we enjoyed. It was a fun filled stroll and one of our favorite tours among many great tours we enjoyed on a 2 week European vacation. Request John! He is the perfect blend of deep knowledge, and his presentation of facts is interesting and memorable, yet not overwhelming. We enjoyed being guided through the streets of central Athens, the food markets and Plako area with a relaxed authentic Athenian who spoke perfect English. John easily picked up on our unstated interests and tailored the tour to fit both our interests and appetites! The food was superb and the guide was even better!

Exceeded our expectations! - Our guide “John” exceeded our expectations for this private food tour. He was so well versed and had a love of the history of Greece and of Athens. He was personally familiar with all of our tour stops taking us to his favorite places. He had us try things we would have never known to order on our own. Everything we tried was delicious and of high quality. Thank you John for a memorable tour in Athens!

Amazing & Delicious Food Tour - Bianca and John were lovely and very knowledgeable about Athens culture and history! We had a really great time exploring the city with them- we learned a lot and ate even more delicious food! Would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see more of Athens.

So much delicious food! - Antonia was a wonderful tour guide who showed us neighborhoods and cafes we would have missed on our own. She not only led us on a Greek feast through the streets of Athens, but she also gave us historical and cultural highlights that added to our experience. Do not eat anything before this tour! There is so much food. From the fried cheese in phyllo to the Greek doughnuts drizzled with honey and the savory gyros, you will be glad you have to walk between stops. We ended our evening with a large assortment of traditional dishes at a cafe in the historic Plaka district. What a delicious way to experience Athens!
