• Syntagma - The official guide will greet visitors at the designated meeting point. Stroll through Syntagma Square while learning about its significance and the history of Athens’ most important square.
• Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - Witness the renowned changing of the Presidential Guards, known as “Tsolias.” The guide will share insights about this famous Greek memorial and the history of the Greek Parliament, which was once the King’s Palace.
• National Garden - The guide will lead a walk through the National Garden, located next to the Parliament. Originally built for Greece’s first Queen, Queen Amalia, it was named the Royal Garden and initially served as a botanical garden.
• Zappeion Conference & Exhibition Center - A brief stop at the Zappeion Mansion will follow. The guide will introduce the history of the first Olympic facility used for the inaugural modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896.
• Temple of Olympian Zeus - Located opposite the Zappeion Mansion, visitors will explore the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Enjoy live guidance inside this monument, dating back to the early 2nd century BC, built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian. It’s an excellent photo opportunity with the Acropolis in the background!
• Acropolis - Enter the South slope of the Acropolis and follow the path uphill to the Parthenon. The walk passes through the Dionysos Theater and concludes at the Acropolis entrance, known as “Propylaea.” The licensed guide will provide a tour of the Acropolis monuments. The Parthenon, at the heart of the 5th century BC complex, epitomizes the grandeur, power, and wealth of Athens during its golden age under Pericles.
• Plaka - The route continues through the “Plaka” and “Anafiotika” districts, leading to the final stop, the Acropolis. This is a wonderful way to explore the city’s traditional areas, featuring excellent shops and restaurants.
