A Morning at the Acropolis

Arriving in Athens, my wife and I settled into our charming Airbnb in the Monastiraki region, a stone’s throw from the Acropolis. The anticipation of exploring this ancient marvel was palpable. As a former professor of European history, the Acropolis had long been a beacon of fascination for me, a symbol of the Golden Age of Athens and the cradle of Western civilization.

We set out early, the morning air crisp and invigorating, with temperatures hovering around a comfortable 15°C.
