- Kalabaka - Kalabaka is a town and the administrative center of the Meteora municipality in the Trikala regional unit, part of Thessaly, Greece. According to the 2011 census, the population was 12,000, with 8,330 residing in the town itself. The Meteora monasteries are situated nearby.
- Meteora - Upon arrival at Meteora, visitors will explore up to three Monasteries. These Monasteries are awe-inspiring at first sight and hold significant cultural and natural value. Formed by earthquakes and shaped by wind and water over millions of years, these colossal rocks are a true masterpiece of nature.
Meteora is a rock formation in central Greece, home to one of the largest and most dramatically constructed complexes of Eastern Orthodox Monasteries. Six of the original 24 monasteries are perched on towering natural pillars and rounded boulders that dominate the landscape.
Meteora is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its name means “lofty” or “elevated,” etymologically linked to “meteor.”
Visitors are advised to dress modestly. Women should wear long skirts and long sleeves. If needed, skirts will be provided upon entry.
- Meteora - Enjoy free time for lunch at a traditional Greek tavern with friends and family or shop in Kastraki, a charming village near Meteora.

Thermopylae - Thermopylae is a historic location in Greece known for its narrow coastal passage in ancient times. Its name comes from its hot sulfur springs. In Greek mythology, the Hot Gates are considered one of the entrances to Hades.
Thermopylae is renowned for the battle between Greek forces and the invading Persian army, immortalized by Simonides of Ceos in the famous epitaph, “Go tell the Spartans, stranger passing by, That here obedient to their laws we lie.” Thermopylae is the only land route capable of supporting significant traffic between Lokris and Thessaly. Traveling from north to south along the east coast of the Balkan peninsula requires passing through Thermopylae, making it a site of numerous battles. - Battlefield of Thermopylae - As the tour departs from the stunning Meteora, it is important to remember the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BCE, a source of cultural inspiration and perhaps the most renowned military last stand in history. The monument of the Great Leonidas, King of Sparta, in Thermopylae, will be a highlight on the return journey to Athens in the late afternoon.
Thermopylae is globally recognized for the battle fought there between Greek forces (notably the Spartans, Lakedemonians, Thebans, and Thespians) and the invading Persian army, commemorated by Simonides in the famous epitaph, “Go tell the Spartans, stranger passing by, That here obedient to their laws we lie.”

Leonidas Monument - Leonidas was a king of the Greek city-state of Sparta and the 17th ruler of the Agiad dynasty, which claimed descent from the mythological demigod Heracles and Cadmus. Leonidas was the son of King Anaxandridas II and succeeded his half-brother King Cleomenes I to the throne around 489 BC.
Leonidas played a significant role in the Second Persian War, leading the allied Greek forces in a last stand at the Battle of Thermopylae (480 BC) while defending the pass against the invading Persian army. He perished in the battle and became legendary as the leader of the 300 Spartans. Although the Greeks lost this battle, they successfully expelled the Persian invaders the following year. - Athens - The return journey to Athens begins late in the afternoon, with a drive of approximately 4.5 hours.
