Don’t miss Delphi! - Peter was a terrific guide: friendly, patient, and a consummate expert in Greek history and folklore. He tailored our tour to our preferences. He was also an excellent driver, which put us at ease for the two hour ride.

Excellent tour for our group aged 3 to 80 - This tour was made amazing by Yannis. We were a group of 7, aged 3 to 80. He adjusted for our group pace and was very knowledgeable about the sites. Lunch stop was superb and a good chance to get out of the car. Lunch was also family friendly. The drive is long, and our full day was around 12 hours. We hired the Delphi private tour guide and that was well worth the extra cost to highlight what was most critical (the Delphi museum and site are expansive). The rear facing seats in the van and winding roads, just be aware. Yannis provided breakfast biscuits and cold water which was a nice extra comfort.

Fabulous VIP day trip from Athens! - Fabulous trip with Peter (our guide). Drove the beautiful Greek "countryside" from Athens to Thermopylae to see the statue of Leonidos (and learn about the history of the battle so Thermopylae from Peter. We already knew that there really is nothing to see that is relevant to the actual battle (since it has disappeared over the many years), but it was very interesting and an enjoyable ride. We then drove on to Delphi where we stopped to explore the museum and the archeological site. Amazing! beautiful, not crowded, weather was perfect. The site was just astounding. Peter then took us to a restaurant in Delphi- the BEST! Great food, drink and service. Felt like VIPs. A great way to spend the day and see the sights.

Excellent Tour & Guide! - This tour was the highlight of our 4 day visit in Athens. Our driver’s name was Tas. The car was super clean and comfortable. Showed up right on time. Loved the little box of cookies. Lots of water provided. Felt very welcomed by Tas who provided bits of information all along the drive to Thermopylae and then on to Delphi. I felt like we were being driven by a friend. He provided some excellent advice to have dinner after the Delphi tour (rather than before). Great advice as there is a lot more walking and step climbing on the archaeological site than is first apparent! Thank you Tas! The dinner in Delphi was perfect with the most amazing view and excellent food. Then a relaxing 2 hr drive back to Athens. We chose this tour based on some reviews. I would say if you are wondering about it, just book it. You won’t regret it. Some beautiful views along the way as well. The purchase for museum tickets is separate but handled by the company. Super easy and efficient.

Fantastic day trip to Delphi and Thermopylae! - We had booked with another tour operator for a day trip to Delphi and Thermopylae who ended up asking us to cancel because of Good Friday “disruptions “. We scrambled to find an alternative and found Ancient Greek Tours on Get Your Guide and booked only a couple of days in advance. Tas called me the night before and suggested a later start in order to avoid holiday traffic. Good call as we had no issues with traffic. Tas was an outstanding guide. He was kind, considerate and very knowledgeable. His stories of the 300 and events at Thermopylae made up for the relative lack of things to see there making it still a very worthwhile stop. We then made our way to Delphi with several beautiful photo op stops on the way. Tas was not allowed to guide us into the museum or site himself but gave us good tips and told us take our time, he’d be waiting for us wherever we finished (we did have the Rick Steves Greece guidebook which had a good comprehensive walking tour section). After the site, Tas had arranged for a late lunch/early dinner at what turned out to be a spectacular restaurant in the town of Delphi - amazing food and wine, outstanding service and gorgeous view. Ancient Greek Tours came through for us at the last minute and provided us with a memorable visit. The vehicle was clean, comfortable, we had plenty of water (cold water!), access to phone charger, everything we could ask for. Tas was an awesome guide and host. We feel like we made a new friend. Besides being a nice guy and very knowledgeable, he clearly has a passion for people, for Greece and its history and mythology. Highly recommend both Ancient Greek Tours and guide Tas!

Spectacular Thermopylae & Delphi - This was by far the highlight of our 17 day trip through Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, and Greece! Highly recommend Yannis K as your guide if you are in the Athens area. Yannis was a fantastic story teller-he brought to life the history of Greek Mythology as well as factual accounts of military strategies used by the Spartans and other united Greeks in defending their country.
