Taygetus - 06:00 am – Departure from the central meeting point in Athens
09:30 am – Arrival at the Taygetos mountain shelter (a 20-minute stop will be made during the journey)
09:30 – 10:00 am – Preparation for the hike. The guide will provide all necessary instructions and details about the trail
10:00 am – Begin the hike to the mountain’s summit….
- Taygetus - 06:00 am – Departure from the central meeting point in Athens
09:30 am – Arrival at the Taygetos mountain shelter (a 20-minute stop will be made during the journey)
09:30 – 10:00 am – Preparation for the hike. The guide will provide all necessary instructions and details about the trail
10:00 am – Begin the hike to the mountain’s summit. There will be short breaks during the hike. The trail is rocky, with an altitude gain of 850 meters. Spectacular views of the Messinia plain, the Mani peninsula, and smaller mountains like the Broken mountain will be visible. A significant portion of the trail is on limestone
13:00-13:30 pm – Reach the peak of Taygetos mountain at 2,407 meters! At the summit, the ruins of a small church dedicated to Prophet Elias can be seen. Enjoy a picnic and take plenty of photos for at least half an hour!
13:30-14:00 pm – Begin the descent back to the shelter and starting point.
16:00-16:30 pm – Arrive at the shelter and rest
17:00 pm – Depart for a nearby village to have lunch.
18:30 pm – Depart for Athens
21:30-22:30 pm – Arrive back in central Athens and at your hotel.
