Malta Aviation Museum is an aircraft museum situated on the site of the former Royal Air Force airfield in the village of Ta’Qali, on the island of Malta. The museum, based in three hangars, covers the history of aviation on the island with exhibits, particularly from the Second World War and post-war periods. The museum is involved in the preservation and restoration of aircraft, some of which are in airworthy condition.

Mosta Rotunda - Mosta Basilica, a Roman Catholic Church dedicated
to the Assumption of Our Lady. The design is based on the Pantheon in Rome, has the third largest unsupported dome in the world and is Malta’s largest and most famous church. The church narrowly avoided destruction during World War II when on 9 April 1942 a German aerial bomb pierced the dome and fell into
the church during Mass, but failed to explode. This event was interpreted by the Maltese as a miracle, although many bombs failed to explode. During you visit you will also go up to the portico, to the bell tower & enter in the inner gallery of the church.
Then you will visit the World War II Shelter that skirts the Mosta Church parvis. The Shelter which was opened recently, was dug by hand in 1940 by 15 highly-skilled workmen. Families used this shelter during World War II to protect themselves from the many and continuous air raids. At the end of the tour, you will also enjoy some local savouries

Unmissable! - A fantastic experience in every way. Firstly the transportation is a piece of history in itself and David the driver is friendly and knowledgeable. The Aviation museum is a hidden treasure even if you're not totally obsessed like me the tour is great and there's some great stories of heroism with the actual planes that match the story. If you are an aviation geek trust me you won't be disappointed! Now on to the rotunda at Mosta, so fascinating and stunningly beautiful inside, it takes your breath away. The ww2 shelter is fascinating. The food platter was nice and you got a drink..I chose the red wine, and also a coffee. The restaurant staff are lovely too and it's right next door to the rotunda.
The only thing I would mention is maybe 10 mins more in each place would have been nice but aside from that it was brilliant. My phone storage still hasn't forgiven me for the overload of pics and videos 😂

A Must trip for Malta ! - Excellent tour, a must for anyone visiting Malta.Perfect day out and well organised. The vintage bus was fantastic, nice and cool with the windows open no Aircon required very nostalgic ride! 2nd time we have been on this trip and each time was very good! Driver David and Tour guide Mario were very welcoming, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, really made the trip!

Great excursion - We took this trip today, collected from our hotel in a very old Bedford Bus about 09.00, and dropped off back there about 1.30. Miriam was the guide and David was the driver, they were great, they provided commentary about the island on the way to the air museum, and the guide at the museum was also very informative. We then went to the church at Mosta which is magnificent, and had a light traditional Maltese snack for lunch. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable trip

Excellent Half Day Tour - This was a great experience, our guide and driver were excellent. We visited the Malta air museum, which was really interesting, we had a private tour (7 of us) with a knowledgeable guide, who worked at the museum, it would have been nice to spend longer there but we may well return. We then went on to Mosta to see the basilica , which was lovely and very interesting, we then went down to an area of the air raid shelters, lastly we had a lunch platter with wine and coffee, which was a lovely way to end the tour. This was a brilliant tour and really good value, we would definitely recommend.

Slightly rushed at the end - This was a great experience the bus was amazing and definitely the drivers passion. Ray showed us around the aviation museum and his passion was evident. Mosta dome was amazing however the dome, the WW2 shelter and the platter felt rushed. It would have nice if there had been some explanation along with platter. No one knew what we were eating although it was as all very nice.

Overwhelming luck with a 95-year-old - To have overwhelming luck with a 95-year-old is probably one of the rare, but in this case it was completely right. A fantastic excursion with knowledgeable and committed guides and drivers as well as a nice lunch. Recommended ;)
Would have gotten 110 percent if the guide wasn't missing at the flight museum.

Visit during cooler months - Remote. No cafe. Visited in July and the building was very uncomfortable due to the very hot temp outside. Best visit on cooler days. Cold drink machine cash only.
