- Waikato Region - After crossing the Bombay Hills, the tour enters the Waikato Province, home to New Zealand’s longest river. With its favorable geography and climate, Waikato’s economy thrives on agriculture, particularly dairy farming, which has been the primary agricultural activity since the late 1800s. Most dairy farms are family-owned.
- Coromandel Peninsula - Known for its white beaches, native bush, and rugged terrain, the Coromandel Region offers numerous opportunities for breathtaking photos as visitors enjoy this unspoiled part of New Zealand. The peninsula attracts those seeking an alternative lifestyle, with towns being few and far between. Population density decreases with distance from the coast and further north.
- Hot Water Beach - At Hot Water Beach, naturally heated mineral water rises from deep within the earth, surfacing through the golden sand. Visitors can dig their own spa pool in the sand. The visit is timed for two hours on either side of low tide, when the sand area with hot water is exposed. Remember to bring swimwear and sturdy walking shoes—spades are provided. It’s a truly unique experience to relax in a hot water pool just meters from the refreshing ocean.
- Cathedral Cove Walk - Perhaps New Zealand’s most iconic beach, Cathedral Cove is famous for its picturesque archway framing a beach of creamy white sand and vibrant emerald waters. As part of a Marine Reserve, it is a haven for marine life and perfect for snorkeling and diving. The Cathedral Cove Walk, the shortest route to the cove, takes about 30 minutes. The path follows cliff-tops overlooking the coastline before descending steeply to the beach. A moderate level of fitness is required as the path has some ups and downs.
