• Scicli - The city of Scicli is situated at the junction of three valleys, with houses climbing up the cliffs on all sides, a large square at the bottom straddling a riverbed, and ancient ecclesiastical buildings that crown various points like baroque acropolises in the semicircle of heights. Scicli is located 24 kilometers from Ragusa. Its municipal territory stretches from the sea to the southern foothills of the Iblean plateau. The landscapes are very diverse: from the coast, alternating between low sandy areas and modest limestone cliffs covered with Mediterranean scrub, to the gentle alluvial slopes of the hinterland with olive, almond, and carob trees, reaching the limestone hills of the northern and inner parts where the main town is located. The municipal territory is crossed by several watercourses, all of which are torrential and almost seasonal, except for the Irminio; the other main streams intersect the center of Scicli and include the Mothucanus or Modica-Scicli stream.
• Ragusa Ibla - After the 1693 earthquake, the ancient city of Ragusa was rebuilt with construction sites that produced works, buildings, and monuments in late Baroque style. It contains 14 of the 18 monuments in the city of Ragusa that are now listed as World Heritage sites. The ancient city boasts over fifty churches and numerous Baroque-style palaces. In the easternmost part, there is the Ibleo Garden, and there are also excavations of an ancient city that several historians believe to be identifiable with Hybla Heraia. In 1866, the district administratively separated from the rest of the city, becoming an autonomous municipality named Ragusa Inferiore, a name it retained until 1922 when it was changed to Ragusa Ibla. In 1927, when Ragusa was elevated to the provincial capital, the two municipalities were reunited. Ragusa Ibla also hosts several important events and ancient traditions such as Ibla Buskers, Ibla Grand Prize, and the Patron Saint’s festival.

A city of Neolithic origins, Modica is the historical capital of the territory roughly corresponding to the Free Municipal Consortium of Ragusa. Until the 19th century, it was the capital of a County that wielded significant political, economic, and cultural influence, being considered one of the most powerful fiefs in the south. As a legacy of its lost political centrality, it remained the fourth most important city in Sicily (after Palermo, Catania, and Messina) until the first half of the 20th century and is still a crucial point of reference for the southeastern part of the island. Modica boasts a rich repertoire of gastronomic specialties.

It is the largest municipality in Sicily and the fourth in Italy by territorial extension (555 km²).
