Great experience - Collin made this cooking class a fun experience. Max group size is 8 and our group was only 6. Very workable size. The food we made was delicious!

A great culinary and cultural experience for all. - This is a fantastic half day tour. It is very well run. Our guide Maxie was a wonderful communicator and chef as she led us through the markets and making our meal. The tour is a great opportunity to learn, taste, see and escape the tourist district. We had children (10 and 13) who also loved the experience. Thanks Maxie and team!

Fun and delicious - Nora did a great job explaining things and making sure we all participated in the cooking class. While we were in the market buying the ingredients needed to cook with she even tried to teach a little Vietnamese to us. We got a little off course because one of the guests have a special request and Nora tried her hardest to accommodate. In the future it would probably be better to say no to special requests but I know it is hard for them to say no because they are so accommodating. I still give her a five-star for the extreme effort she made and how pleasant she was to work with

Absolute must do in Hanoi - Absolute joy to learn more about Vietnamese cooking with Trevor, who was charming, knowledgable and attentive. Market visit was enlightening but the food made back at kitchen, spectacular. This is a must to do.

Review - Khôi Hói means bald head, referring to the owner’s hairstyle. Come here for phở – beef noodle soup. There are many cuts to choose from, including rare cuts like beef heel muscle. You can also specify how you like your beef cooked.

Fantastic Hanoi cooking class - We had an amazing experience with Kim. We started with a hands on and informative visit to the wet market to shop for ingredients then headed to the venue. Everything was very professionally organized and clean. Food safe practices were followed. Kim was a great guide and the whole experience was fun and very hands on. We made several dishes and then had an amazing sit down meal at the end. We highly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it.

Nothing to write home about - The cooking class was a bit disappointing. We mostly cut and chopped vegetables the entire time. This was quite laborious, as opposed to being fun. There was very little actual cooking involved. For example, when we made the vermicelli dish, we didn't actually learn how to make vermicelli, we bought it from the market on the street. This stood in stark contrast to my experience with learning how to make ramen in Japan (TripAdvisor cooking class), where we actually made our ramen noodle from scratch (from dough), and learned how to cook the pork, including torching it as a final touch to char the meat. Before the class, we also went to the market to pick up the ingredients. The food market was in a parking garage, which did not seem like a very clean place to be selling food including raw meat. I suspect this may be one reason why the ingredients were dirt cheap. Lastly, the chef seemed very young and was not very skilled at providing instructions. Later, I learned that the original class was full, so they opened up a second class and held the lesson at a secondary location. Likely the chef provided for our cooking class was an apprentice since the primary chef was occupied with teaching the first class. All in all, it was a below average experience. I do not recommend this specific cooking class to others.

They cancelled on us late the night before - Cancelled on us around 23:30pm the night before our class, so I found out the following morning with minimal time to find an alternative class. The company said it was a maintenance issue, which may have been the case, but odd that it arose so late. With minimal time and another tour that morning, I asked them for help finding an alternative tour with a different company, but wasn’t able to get help.
