Great Experience! - You get to experience two cultures with this tour because Fiji is a mixture of Fijians and Indians. You also get to sample both cultures foods and meet many great people along the way. Lina is an excellent storyteller and can answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend.

What a great tour in Fiji - off the grid - The tour was a great experience for us. Our tour guide Pauline (Lina) and driver Boni were both terrific. We left our hotel in Denarau at 9am and returned around 3pm in the afternoon after a truly memorable day. The vehicle was a comfortable Toyota van. We started by visiting a local fruit and vegetable market on the outskirts of Nadi. It was great to the the large variety of tropical fruit and vegetables, very well presented and to talk with some of the vendors. A visit to a small primary school some way out of Nadi was next on the agenda. Unfortunately, it was school holidays, but it was most interesting to see inside the classrooms and some of the displays both inside and outside of the classrooms. We then drove for perhaps 40 minutes into the highland along a very basic road (part of the fun) where we visited the home of a Fijian Indian couple who farm a small area of land in the rugged hills - mostly sugar cane. Our hosts who were very welcoming showed us into their home and gave us some snacks. So interesting. We then started to descend from the highlands taking some beautiful photos of the amazing scenery and visited a traditional Fijian village along the way. We spent a couple of hours in the wonderful village and really felt the warmth and hospitality of the Fijian villagers living a very basic lifestyle. A welcoming ceremony with kava was part of visit before an elder escorted us around the entire village. What an experience this was. We were able to meet and talk to many of the villagers - adults and children. Then our hosts provided us with a lunch of Fijian food in their home. Following our village visit were returned to our hotel in Denarau. All day our tour guide Lina provided us with so much detail about Fiji and was ever ready to answer all of our question on the lifestyle of the Fijian people. Her insights into the society and government of Fiji - good and not so good - were enlightening. Boni our driver was terrific. Safe, attentive and well experienced on navigating the roads - parts of which were a bit challenging at times. What a great day we had - a beautiful country and people. And what a great team - Lina and Boni - who made the day for us. I would recommend the tour with Off the Grid.

Great tour! Definitely a must see!!!! - Private Experience of the Authentic Lifestyle of People in Fiji: The trip was awesome! Lina was very helpful and gave us a review of what today was going to be like. We got a hotel pickup, and in about 15-20 minutes we were at the fruit market! The food was fresh and we got some mouth-watering fruit. Lina allowed us to stay for however long we wanted. She let us browse and even gave us some tips on which ones we should buy. Lina knew most of the sellers, and showed us some traditional fruits and vegetables. Then, we had a quick bathroom break then set off to the school. The kids were well behaved, and Lina showed us around. We saw the kids being taught, exams going on and even the canteen. Truly a must-see. After we met the Head Teacher who greeted us warmly. We were able to write in the log book and state our experience. Soon we left and went to the Indians house. She was very nice and showed us around her household then served us some wraps and vegetable. We ate under a tree looking at the scenery around us. There were 3 dogs there. We also viewed some bullocks being lead to the tree to be tied up. Finally, we headed to our last destination. At the village, we had to go up a dirt road and on a bridge with crystal-clear water flowing below. We then went to see the Head Chief who greeted us like an old friend. He showed us the village and its inhabitants then gave us some traditonal Fijian food and some delicious lemonade. We met some nice people and we even got to see the church. Truly an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a traditional Fijian experience behind the scenes, then book this! The tour was very enjoyable. Five stars! Oh, and also Lina, here are some tips: Key words Unique differences More advertising I'll send more soon! Thanks for the wonderful tour! - The Baileys

Unforgettable Cultural Experience with Off The Grid - We had the absolute pleasure of touring with Off The Grid in Fiji, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our guide, Lina, and driver, Pauli, were incredible — warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the real Fiji with us. The tour was packed with rich, authentic Fijian culture. From visiting a local farming family and exploring a vibrant market, to experiencing life in a village — every stop was meaningful. But the absolute highlight was visiting the school, where we were welcomed with open arms and the brightest, most beautiful smiles. Connecting with the children and teachers was something truly special — a memory we’ll carry forever. Vinaka vaka levu, Off The Grid, for showing us the heart of Fiji!

Lina, our guide, was very... - Lina, our guide, was very friendly and genuine. The highlights was the visit to a lovely Indian couple who shared their home and lifestyle. There we got to taste some beautiful food prepared by our hosts. We then went onto the Fijian villiage. We were welcomed with a Kava ceremony, followed by a tour of the villiage. We then enjoyed a beautiful feast which was prepared entirely from the plants in the garden. They were super friendly and welcoming. Lina was a very competent and safe driver, particularly over very rough terrain. Overall a great tour and highly recommend.

Experience the real Fijian life - If you want to see the real Fiji, you should definitely experience this tour. First, the guide asked me about my interests. As a university student studying agricultural engineering, the guide told me many interesting stories about Fijian farming style, field conditions, crop types, etc. I also had the opportunity to visit a primary school attended by farmers' children and interact with them. In addition, I visited villages and homes of both indigenous Fijians and Indo-Fijians, who make up the majority of Fiji's population, and were able to compare and understand the differences in their lives, giving us a deeper insight. They will customize the tour to suit the traveler's interests. Overall, it was a fun tour that gave me a glimpse into real life in Fiji. I would like to participate again if I have the opportunity.

A fantastic day seeing the real Fiji - Today, our cruise ship was scheduled to stop at Port Denarau, but due to the cyclones in the area, it was deemed too risky for us to disembark via tender boats (water taxis). As a result, we docked at the wharf in Lautoka instead. We were informed of this change just yesterday, February 28th. We reached out to Off The Grid Tours to notify them. Saki from Off The Grid Tours showed incredible compassion and understanding. He had no hesitation in adjusting our pickup location, despite it being about an hour away from the original port. Saki picked us up from the wharf and maintained a positive attitude throughout the day. He was not only kind and knowledgeable but also a joy to converse with. He shared fascinating insights about the culture of both the indigenous Fijians and the Indian communities in Fiji. Thanks to Saki, our day was a very positive and memorable experience, offering us a genuine glimpse of Fiji beyond the typical tourist attractions. I would wholeheartedly recommend Off The Grid Tours to anyone interested in experiencing and learning about authentic Fijian culture.

Amazing Tour w/ Paulina! - We had an amazing tour and cultural experience with Paulina. The village tour was an unforgettable experience. My 9-yo son played and went swimming with the beautiful kids in the village. They treated him like a sibling. We can't say thank you enough. Your tour was truly the highlight of our trip!

Highly Recommended - Paulina was an exceptional, professional, personal tour guide. I spent the day at a school, market and interacting with two villages, one in Indian couple and the other a Fijian community. She was a cultural ambassador, sharing her respect for local customs and traditions, and fostering visitor connections with locals. I highly recommend this tour. My day was a highlight of my South Pacific travels.
