ARUSHA TOWN TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Tarangire National Park - Guests will be collected from their hotel in Moshi at 6:30 am and transported to Tarangire National Park to begin their wildlife viewing adventure in this remarkable park. Known for its impressive baobab trees, abundant large mammals, and diverse bird species, it also boasts one of the highest concentrations of elephants in the country. After exploring the park, guests will be taken to their lodge for an overnight stay.
TARANGIRE TO SERENGETI PLAINS
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Following breakfast, the journey continues towards Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic highland farms of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descending from the highlands, travelers enter the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its vast plains stretching endlessly. The destination is the central park area, known as the Seronera area, a rich wildlife habitat featuring the Seronera River, which attracts a wide variety of Serengeti species. Arrival is in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.
FULL DAY IN SERENGETI PLAINS
Serengeti National Park - Experience the unique opportunity to soar in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at an additional cost with prior arrangement). Glide silently above the awakening landscape, observing wildlife and the stunning African scenery, crossing rivers and small villages. After breakfast, enjoy a game drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, offering potential sightings of lions, Thomson gazelles, topis, ostriches, and cheetahs. The Visitor Centre near the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is worth visiting after the morning game drive. This well-designed center features interesting wildlife displays and a gift shop with information leaflets and maps. It also has a shop for cold drinks and snacks, a picnic area, and an information trail around a nearby kopje. A relaxed picnic lunch will be enjoyed at the center under the shade of giant acacia trees. In the afternoon, the Kopjes Circuit will be followed, circling the Maasai Kopjes, which often attract lions and large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops scattered across the plains, serving as miniature ecosystems that provide shade and water in pools left by the rains. These features make the kopjes excellent for wildlife spotting during the dry seasons, including lions waiting for animals to come drink.
SERENGETI PLAINS TO NGORONGORO CRATER
Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast at the lodge, the journey continues to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A stop will be made at Olduvai Gorge, a site rich in history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here that anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man,’ both crucial links in the chain of human evolution.
LAKE MANYARA TO ARUSHA
Lake Manyara - Following an early morning breakfast at the lodge, the group will depart for Lake Manyara National Park. This enchanting park is located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and is home to a wide variety of species due to its diverse habitats. The shores of Lake Manyara are adorned with the pink hues of flamingos. The park hosts over four hundred bird species, with exotic birds frequently migrating to this sanctuary. Visitors can expect to see Cape clawless otters, buffalo, elephants, Egyptian mongooses, hippos, giraffes, impalas, and the largest concentration of baboons in the world. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park, and in the afternoon, the group will depart for Arusha.
