The approximately 140-meter-high tower, the main facade with portal statues, and the 15-meter-diameter rose window are particularly impressive. Inside, the Angel Pier, the Pulpit, the Astronomical Clock, and the renowned Silbermann Organ are noteworthy. Construction began in 1015 and spanned over 400 years in the Gothic style.
• Maison Kammerzell - If you’ve already tried choucroute garnie, this is your chance to enjoy traditional Alsatian dishes: from duck foie gras to Alsace-style snails, along with the famous Gewürztraminer wines. The half-timbered house, Haus am Münsterplatz, was built in 1427 and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. It’s a perfect spot for lunch.
• Palais de Rohan - Constructed between 1731 and 1742 for the prince bishops and cardinals of the Rohan family, the palace is well-preserved and showcases interior designs along with a collection of crockery, goblets, paintings, and books from that era. Notable visitors include Louis XV, Marie-Antoinette during her bridal procession from Vienna to Versailles, Marie-Louise of Austria, and King Charles X. Napoleon Bonaparte also had some rooms redesigned to suit his and his wife Joséphine de Beauharnais’s tastes.
