Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino - Following Badiauri, the journey continues to Bodbe Nunnery. En route to Bodbe, there is a stop at the Sighnaghi viewpoint for breathtaking photos. Bodbe Nunnery of St. Nino is situated in Kakheti, just 2 kilometers from Sighnaghi. Legend has it that it is built over the burial site of Saint Nino, a revered figure who converted Georgians to Christianity. Georgian kings have historically shown great care for the Bodbe Monastery, which has undergone numerous repairs and restorations.
Sighnaghi - Sighnaghi is a charming town in Kakheti, located 75 km east of Tbilisi. Despite being one of Georgia’s smallest towns, it is a favored tourist spot due to its central position in Georgia’s wine-growing region, scenic landscapes, pastel houses with wooden fretwork balconies, and narrow cobblestone streets. The Great Wall of Georgia offers stunning photo opportunities, encircling the city. In Sighnaghi, enjoy lunch with a spectacular view of the Alazani Valley. Tunnel Winery Khareba’s - Winery Khareba stands as the largest wine cellar in Georgia. It boasts ideal wine storage conditions, with 7.7 km of tunnels and galleries maintaining a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees Celsius. A guided walking tour provides insights and details about wine, along with tasting opportunities. The complex also features an impressive museum within the tunnel, which is part of the tour.
Alaverdi St. George Cathedral - Alaverdi Monastery is a Georgian Eastern Orthodox monastery located 25 km from Akhmeta, in the Kakheti region of Eastern Georgia. While some parts of the monastery date back to the 6th century, the current cathedral was constructed in the 11th century by Kvirike III of Kakheti, replacing an older church dedicated to St. George.
