Memphis and Sakkara - Saqqara Pyramids & Tombs
We begin here to grasp the evolution of Egyptian pyramids. Our first stop at Saqqara is the Step Pyramid Complex of King Djoser, which is 4700 years old and the first Egyptian pyramid ever built. Next, we visit the 5th Dynasty Pyramid of King Unas, inscribed with hieroglyphics inside, followed by the oldest tombs adorned with daily life and ancient funeral scenes from 4500 years ago. Basic entry ticket included; an extra ticket is required to enter the step pyramid.
Then, a 10-minute drive takes us to the Memphis open-air Museum, home to the ruins of the Egyptian temple of god Petah, including the colossal statue of King Ramses II and the second-largest Egyptian Sphinx of the New Kingdom, likely representing the female pharaoh Queen Hatshepsut.
Pyramids of Giza - After a lunch break, we head directly to the Giza pyramids, starting with the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Chephren (Khafre pyramid). We’ll then return to the van to drive to the Giza Pyramids Western Side Panorama, where you can see all three pyramids together and enjoy a fun camel ride. Get ready for the ride and capture your best photos of the trip. Next, we drive to the Valley Temple, an impressive limestone and red granite structure, located near the Great Sphinx of Giza. After visiting the Sphinx, we will drive you back to your hotel or apartment.
Egyptian Museum - Civilization Museum and Coptic Cairo & Nile River Felucca Sailing
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - We start at the Egyptian Museum, where thousands of Egyptian artifacts are on display.
National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NEMC) - Next, we delve into the rich history of Egypt at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, viewing the royal mummies of the greatest Egyptian pharaohs and impressive treasures made from gold and other materials.
Coptic Cairo - Lunch is at the Community of Religions area, where people of three different religions lived peacefully together. We then drive to Coptic Cairo to visit the Hanging Church, Babylon Fortress, Cave Church of Virgin Mary, and the Jewish Synagogue of Ben Ezra. After exploring Coptic Cairo, enjoy a relaxing 45-minute ride on a traditional Egyptian sailing boat called a Felucca on the Nile River, perfect for taking beautiful photos.
Islamic Cairo (Muez Street - Khan El Khalili - Cairo Citadel - Sultan Hassan Mosque)
Cairo Citadel - We start the day by visiting the medieval Citadel of Salah Eldeen, known for its impressive mosques and panoramic views of Cairo. We also visit the marble mosque of Muhammed Ali, followed by the mosques of Sultan Hassan and El-Rifa’i.
Al Moez Ldin Allah Al Fatmi - After lunch, we head to Muez Street, the largest open-air museum of Islamic art in the world, featuring numerous mosques, domes, and beautifully decorated houses. We end our walk at Al Fishawy Cafe in the heart of Khan El Khalili, where you can relax, have a drink, and explore the colorful local shops.
