Batuan Temple was founded in the year 944 isaka (1020 AD), making it nearly 1000 years old. It is a Puseh Temple, based on the “Tri Kahyangan or Tri Murti” concept taught by Mpu Kuturan in the 10th century to the Balinese Hindu community.
