A mesmerizing cultural performance under the open sky, where dozens of men chant in unison, retelling the epic Ramayana - A Magical Cultural Experience Under the Stars 🌅🔥 Watching the Kecak Dance in Bali was an unforgettable experience! Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Uluwatu Temple and the setting sun, the performance was both powerful and hypnotic. The rhythmic chanting of the performers—without any instruments—created an atmosphere like no other. The storytelling, the traditional costumes, and the dramatic fire dance at the end had the whole crowd mesmerized. It’s more than a dance—it’s a deep cultural ritual that gives you a glimpse into the spiritual side of Bali. I felt transported to another world.

Immense cultural experience. A must see!! - Wow, just wow. An incredible story told on the side of a cliff top at sunset. Whilst the organisation getting into the venue is questionable and they fill every inch with bodies (safety anyone?) the event is just a feast for the eyes. A cultural storytelling masterclass that has to be seen to understand its magnitude. Be warned, however, the monkeys that reside around the temple this event is located in are master thieves. They’ll steal anything visible, glassed, hats and phones. Saw at least five people lose one or more items to the blighters and even had my own phone knocked out of my hand but thankfully it was dropped so I got it back quickly. Despite the risks, it’s a must see. Absolutely loved it!!

Very fascinating but Not for everyone - Probably a very good show but not really into it. Not for every one even though it’s a must see in Bali

Very crowded with a slow... - Very crowded with a slow entry due to the number of people. Chanting was too much and too repetitive for me.. Audio was very poor for spoken parts with masks on!

Should come with a warning - A trip to Bali isn’t complete without seeing a traditional kecak dance and this is a truly iconic and stunning location for a show. The performance was great, just voice and dance with an amazing view, HOWEVER BE WARNED! Traffic up to the cliff top is horrendous, give yourself plenty of time. It is also extremely crowded. Be sure to pre-book tickets. This is experience is for you if you don’t like being shoulder to shoulder with strangers and shuffling through the slow-moving crowd towards the theatre or exit on uneven ground, worse in the dark as the path is narrow and unlit. God forbid there was an emergency…. And then there are the MONKEYS. They are relentless, fairly aggressive, have a pack mentality and are not scared of people at all. They go for glasses, phones, watches, bag accessories, not just food! In fact some people were so upset by them that they left before the show even started. They approach slowly and take you by surprise. I saw monkeys jumping on people’s backs. My dad had glasses stolen off his face. They swarmed cars in the car park and invaded the restaurants at the entrance. Ok if you are amused but definitely not ok if you are scared. Tainted the whole experience for our family. The whole place could do with reconsidering safety around the show.

Wasn’t the greatest experience - Well overall no warning that monkeys steal your items so make sure that you don’t have lose items on you such as glasses or phone make sure you hold on, the lighting walking to and from the temple stage wasn’t brightest at all couldn’t see where you were stepping and that ledges to the entry of the temple wasn’t the greatest either as they are quiet steep and people where pushing there way in, people were leaving only 15mins into the dance, dance overall was okay I though more fire would of been involved! I wouldn’t be paying anymore then $15 aud for the dance yet alone $5 aud for temple entry so total $20 aud pp

Not worth it. - Very disorganized entrance. No marked seats and overly crowded. We left within 15 minutes of the show because it was too repetitive without too much punch of engagement. We saw many people leaving in the middle as well. But we felt it was an unnecessary activity on our schedule.

Stunning views and lovely sunset — but that’s about it. - Stunning views and lovely sunset — but that’s about it. The seating for the dance was practically non-existent. People were crammed together, and when all the stairs and walkways were full, some were even placed on the floor right next to the dancers. If you want to leave before it’s over, good luck — it’s almost impossible to get out. The dance itself wasn’t for me at all. It was mostly men making noises, with three women moving their hands, and a few people dressed as a monkey and some demons. The so-called fire dance was just the monkey kicking the fire — no real fire dancing at all. I was ready to leave after the first eight minutes, which honestly felt like the longest eight minutes of my life. The only part I enjoyed was seeing the monkeys around the place. When we arrived it was bright, so there weren’t many, but when we left there were dozens. They will try to snatch anything you have — water bottles, phones, sunglasses — and they’re not shy about it. One grabbed my water bottle, which I found amusing, but I saw others lose more valuable items. Even if the seating was halved and the whole event better organised, I still wouldn’t recommend it. I understand it’s their folklore, but with more effort it could be so much better.
