Las Casas of Bataan - For $40 US lunch included? The lunch was pure Filipino. No choice but the eggplant, okra, bean you find in the poorest of roadside carinderias. And we got charged for cokes. The “ Casas” were no thrill, and the Acuzar family is aggrandized beyond any call for accomplishment. I could go on, but i need to point out that the property must be the origin point of the WW II tragedy, The Bataan Death March. There is no plaque or commemoration for the hundreds, maybe thousands of Americans and Filipinos who lost their lives on a death march of 150 miles into the interior of the country at the hands of their Captors. The whitewash is typical of the moneyed interests at work in this tortured land.
