5-day journey

Day 1
The adventure begins in Cairo with a morning departure in an air-conditioned vehicle heading to Bahariya Oasis, approximately a 5-hour drive. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before embarking on a safari in a jeep. The first stop is the Black Desert, followed by a visit to the village of Al-Hayz to see the cold spring. The journey continues to the Crystal Mountain, and then to the rain area, where a pleasant campsite is set up for dinner and an overnight stay.

Black Desert -

• Sightseeing: The Black Desert is a sought-after destination for those interested in unique desert landscapes. Tours often start from Bahariya Oasis or are part of extended desert expeditions.
• Photography: The striking contrast of dark hills against the golden desert sands offers excellent photography opportunities.
• Hiking and Exploration: Visitors can explore the hills and rocky outcrops, many of which provide panoramic views of the expansive desert.
• Climate: The Black Desert, like much of the Western Desert, experiences an arid climate with very hot summers and cooler winters. Rainfall is scarce.

White Desert

White Desert - Day 2
After breakfast, the adventure continues with a visit to the Aqaba Desert Road and the Qaraween Dunes, followed by a drive to the Magic Springs for lunch. Post-lunch, the journey proceeds to the new White Desert, where visitors can admire the stunning limestone formations before setting up camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

White Desert -

• Unique Rock Formations: The White Desert is renowned for its surreal, chalky-white rock formations, sculpted by wind erosion over millennia. These formations have whimsical shapes, often resembling mushrooms, animals, or abstract figures.
• Composition: The rock structures are primarily composed of soft chalk limestone, giving the desert its distinctive white appearance.
• Desert Landscape: The terrain features sandy plains, scattered rocks, and occasional ridges, creating a striking contrast between the white formations and the golden sands.
• Flora and Fauna:
  • Vegetation: Due to arid conditions, vegetation is minimal, though some hardy desert plants, like small shrubs and grasses, may grow in certain areas.

After breakfast, the journey continues towards Kharga Oasis. Upon arrival, visitors explore the museum and the Temple of Hibis, followed by lunch. After lunch, there is a visit to the local market, and a leisurely walk before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Kharga -

• Ancient History: Kharga Oasis has been a significant settlement and trade route since Pharaonic times. It was part of the renowned Darb El-Arba’īn (Forty Days Road), a caravan route connecting the Nile Valley with Sudan.
• Roman Influence: During the Roman era, Kharga was fortified and served as a vital trade and defense point against desert invasions. The Romans left behind notable archaeological sites, including temples and fortresses.
• Medieval and Islamic Era: The oasis remained important during the Islamic period, with structures built to support travelers and local communities.
• Main Attractions and Historical Sites:
  • Temple of Hibis: A prominent monument from the 26th Dynasty, featuring a blend of Persian, Egyptian, and Roman influences, dedicated to the Theban triad (Amun, Mut, and Khonsu).
  • Necropolis of Al-Bagawat: A well-preserved Christian cemetery with over 200 mudbrick chapels, some containing biblical frescoes and early Christian art.

Kharga -

• Temple of Hibis: A significant site from the 26th Dynasty with detailed carvings and inscriptions.
• Qasr al-Ghueita and Qasr al-Zayyan: Fortresses that served as waypoints for ancient travelers.
• Al-Bagawat Cemetery: An ancient Christian necropolis with chapels showcasing biblical frescoes and early Christian art.

After breakfast, the car is ready to drive to Luxor.

Luxor Market - Day 5
After breakfast, the car is ready to drive to Luxor, where the journey continues upon arrival at the hotel.

This excursion will take you to Bahariya Oasis in the Western Desert and then out into the surrounding desert to see the unique regions known as the Black and White Deserts in a unique adventure experience with murals in Bagwat. We then drive to Dakhla Oasis, where we spend the night in an oasis-style hut with red huts, shared bathrooms, and basic facilities. Overnight in Dakhla. After breakfast, enjoy a trip to the Deir el Hajar Roman Temple in its peaceful surroundings and the Mezwaqa Roman Cemetery. Then go to visit the Islamic village of Al-Qasr, which is about 35 km from Mut, and contains the ruins of the Ayyubid Mosque. Then move to Kharga and spend the night in Kharga Oasis.
