As a marine biologist, my life is often spent beneath the waves, studying the vibrant ecosystems that thrive in the ocean’s embrace. Yet, every so often, I find myself yearning for a different kind of oceanic adventure—one that allows me to simply revel in the beauty of the sea without the constraints of research. This longing led me to the shores of Baiae, where I embarked on a Boat Tour to Procida and Ischia.

The day began with a gentle breeze and the promise of sunshine as I boarded the boat, a vessel perfectly sized to navigate the hidden coves and secluded beaches that larger boats could only dream of reaching. Here, the water was so inviting that I couldn’t resist another swim, feeling the sun’s warmth on my skin as I floated in the gentle waves.

At Spiaggia di Punta Ottimo, we found ourselves alone on a black sandy beach, the only sounds the gentle lapping of the waves and the distant calls of seabirds. It was a moment of pure serenity, a chance to simply be present and appreciate the beauty of the natural world.

As the sun began its descent, casting a golden glow over the water, we made our way to the Port of Corricella. Here, we indulged in the most exquisite gelato, a sweet ending to a day filled with laughter, exploration, and the joy of shared experiences. As we sailed back across the bay, the sunset painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, I felt a profound sense of gratitude for the memories we had created.
