TARA NATIONAL PARK

Gate of Podrinje - The journey begins at 8 a.m. from your accommodation in Belgrade. In under 3 hours, we will arrive at our first destination en route to Tara National Park. The “Gate of Podrinje,” the entrance to the enchanting Drina River valley, is the first of three stunning viewpoints you will experience on this two-day tour from Belgrade.

Drina River House - Bajina Basta, a quaint city nestled at the base of Tara Mountain, is next on our itinerary. It features the unique “House on the Rock on the Drina River,” an attraction that graced the cover of National Geographic magazine.

Reka Vrelo (One Year River - Reka Godina) - A short, enjoyable drive will bring us to the Vrelo River, officially the shortest river in Europe, measuring just 365 meters in length.

Tara National Park - The tour proceeds with a brief drive to the newest viewpoint in Tara National Park, “Zelenika,” which opened in autumn 2022. From this vantage point, you can view Perucac Lake and dam, as well as the town of Bajina Basta.

Banjska Stena - The tour continues with a drive to the heart of Tara National Park, where we will embark on a walking/hiking segment to reach the undoubtedly most beautiful viewpoint in Serbia, “Banjska Rock.” This location provides a breathtaking panoramic view of the Drina River valley and the Perucac artificial lake.

Afterwards, a lunch break will be taken, offering a wonderful opportunity to sample local specialties from Western Serbia.

Drive to Zlatibor. Hotel check-in. Overnight stay.

UVAC NATURE RESERVE

Uvac Special Nature Reserve - The most popular way to explore this incredible natural site is through a combination of cruising and hiking, lasting 4-5 hours. We will first cruise along the Uvac meanders for approximately 12 km. During the cruise, we will visit the Ice Cave. The Uvac cave system is the largest in Serbia, consisting of two caves: Usacka (6 km) and Ice Cave (2.5 km). Afterwards, we will begin the hiking portion of the tour to reach the observation platform “Veliki Vrh,” which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Uvac meanders. Besides taking pictures, this is the ideal spot to observe one of the main symbols of the Uvac Nature Reserve, the Griffon Vultures—a relatively rare bird of prey whose population in Uvac is the second largest in Europe.

Once our Uvac Canyon tour concludes, a lunch break will be taken at a traditional restaurant.

Return to Belgrade in the late evening hours.
