Komani Lake, Bajram Curri, and Valbona Valley
Komani Lake - Komani Lake is a reservoir on the Drini River, created following the construction of the Komani hydropower dam in the early 1970s. It is regarded as one of Europe’s most stunning lakes, often compared to the Norwegian fjords. The journey across its blue waters passes by remote villages and untouched forests. For some villages, traveling via this lake is the sole means of reaching their homes, and during winter, they remain isolated for several months.
Bajram Curri - After the ferry ride on Komani Lake, the journey continues by car to the quaint town of Bajram Curri. A brief visit offers insight into the lives of locals residing in this town nestled among the Alps.
Valbona Valley National Park - The trip proceeds by car towards Valbona Valley, passing the Valbona River, renowned for its crystal-clear, ice-cold waters and swift currents. A stop will be made to admire the beauty of Shoshani Canyon. Upon arrival in Valbona, accommodations will be arranged in guest houses, followed by a nutritious traditional lunch. After a short rest, there will be an opportunity to hike around the valley. Depending on the group’s interest, the hike can extend to the Rrogami Waterfall.
Valbona Valley and Prizren, Kosovo
Valbona Valley National Park - An early morning rise is encouraged to fully appreciate the breathtaking nature of Valbona Valley, surrounded by mountain peaks exceeding 2000 meters. A hearty breakfast featuring traditional and local products will be served outdoors. Following breakfast, guests will leave the guest house to explore the valley, including an old mill and small villages.
Prizren - Around 2 pm, the journey continues by car to Kosovo, where the town of Prizren will be visited. Known for its Ottoman architecture, Prizren offers a delightful experience. Visitors will spend approximately two hours exploring the town, visiting the Prizren Fortress, and enjoying lunch.
