- Baku Boulevard - Known as the National Seaside Park, Baku Boulevard is a beloved promenade for both locals and tourists, ranking as the second largest in Europe after Paris’s Seine River park. Established over a century ago by Baku’s oil barons, it stretches 3,750 meters along the Caspian Sea’s southern coast, from National Flag Square to Freedom Square. The Boulevard features museums, cultural sites, shopping centers, and entertainment venues, including the Devil’s Wheel, offering stunning views of Baku Bay.
- Baku Old City - The tour continues with a walking tour of the Old City. Starting at the Double Gates, this 1-2 hour tour showcases the Chain, Sailor, and Cat Houses, Bukhara and Multani Caravanserais, Juma Mosque, and Maiden Tower. The guide will share the history of these sites. After photographing the Maiden Tower, visitors can explore the Miniature Book Museum (if open), home to the world’s largest collection of miniature books, including a 0.75mm thick book with 22 pages. The museum boasts over 5,600 books from 66 countries.
- Palace of the Shirvanshahs - Next is the Shirvanshah Palace, a gem of Azerbaijani architecture and former residence of Shirvan’s rulers, located in central Baku. The complex includes the Divan-Khan courtyard, a tomb, a mosque from 1441, a bathhouse, and the mausoleum of court scholar Seyid Yahya Bakuvi.
- Nizami Street / Tarqovi - The final stop on the Baku city tour is Nizami Street. Visitors have 15-20 minutes to stroll along this central street, lined with shops and delightful restaurants, and admire the enchanting Fountain Square.
