- World’s First Oil Well - Azerbaijani historians have discovered documents in Russian archives that confirm an oil well was drilled at the Bibi-Heybat field near Baku in 1846. This well is considered the world’s first, predating commercial oil production in the US by 13 years.

- Bibi-Heybat Mosque - Bibi-Heybet (aunt of the stern) is a ‘pir’ located near the mountains of Baku within a large cemetery. The tomb of Bibi-Heybet, a relative of the Prophet Muhammad, is situated in a grand mosque frequently visited by Muslims. Bibi-Heybet is renowned for her miraculous healing powers. Many Muslims wish to be buried near this mosque.
- Mud Volcanoes - A mud volcano is a geological formation featuring a hole or depression in the earth’s surface, or a cone-shaped elevation with a crater, from which mud and gases are continuously or periodically erupted. These volcanoes are primarily found in oil-rich and volcanic regions.
- Gobustan Rock Art - Gobustan is one of the world’s most renowned historical and archaeological reserves, serving as an open-air museum with a vast collection of invaluable historical artifacts.
- Ateshgah - Fire Temple - The “Ateshgah” Fire-worshipper temple dates back to the second and third centuries. During this period, Zoroastrianism spread in Azerbaijan, leading to the construction of Zoroastrian temples in the region. The Ateshgah temple in Surakhani was active until the 7th century, when Islam was adopted in Azerbaijan.
- Yanardag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve - Yanardag is one of the most remarkable natural attractions on the Absheron Peninsula. It is a flaming mountainside that cannot be extinguished by rain or sand and has been burning for millennia. The awe-inspiring fiery landscape is easily explained: natural gas is released from the upper layers of soil and ignites upon contact with oxygen.

The fire of Azerbaijan - Great organization, we saw the main attractions in one day with much comfort. Our guide Reeza was unique, he provided us with a lot of special and high level information. A cultured person who speaks perfect English with a great accent. Lunch is light but considering the bus transport immediately after it is appropriate. Great experience, highly recommended.

Real Azerbaijan - We really enjoyed our tour. Reza, our trip guide was very helpful, knowledgeable and very organized. He was able to communicate effectively jn three languages (English, Russian and Turkish) to the tour group. Highly recommend this tour to understand Azerbaijan outside of Baku. Ask for Reza to be your tour guide if you can.

200% recommended - A great experience, and I really mean it. Several fantasic spots covered that I would never manage to see on my own. And you will be totally blown away by the mud volcanos place (and the drive there ;-). Rijad was our guide, extremely nice and positive, speaking minimum five languages ;-), full of stories and facts about geography, history, industry and religion of the region. Also many thanks to Reza, another great guide working together with Rijad. Awsome day, simply go there and enjoy!

Amazing trip around Baku! - The trip was very interesting! Our guide - Reza - was very knowledgeable and fun, he told us many things about the history of Azerbaijan. The tour itself was organised very well, we never fell behind schedule and spent full 9 hours in a very interesting and enchanting environment.

Great tour of spots around Baku - This was an enjoyable full day tour of the attractions around Baku. There are several historical and natural attractions around the city that you can’t easily access independently so this was very convenient. Our guide Reza was very informative so we learned a lot. I recommend this if you are visiting Baku.

Fun, fast and informative tour! Highly recommended! - A great day out with our fantastic guide, Riad. Arrangements were seamless from booking to pick up. Courtesy whatsapp beforehand, and a clean bus collected me from my hotel. Smiley safe driver. Riad was very knowledgeable about his subject matter, approachable, and fun. The sights were incredible, the lunch delicious and a lovely group of fellow tourists. Highly recommended.

Skip the Mud Volcanoes if You Get Motion Sick! - Our guide was wonderful — 5/5 for him — but the tour content was very disappointing. Most stops (like the oil well, mud volcanoes, burning mountain, and fire temple) weren’t worth visiting. Important: if you have any motion sickness, skip the mud volcanoes — the off-road ride was miserable and made me very sick. Gobustan petroglyphs were the only highlight. If I could do it over, I’d just taxi to Gobustan instead.
