Discovering history of mankind and origin of Zoroastrianism - The mud volcano was a unique experience. The volcano erupts mud and the way to it is full of mud and slush. We were taken in another car. The car was powerful despite being 40 years old! The driver, Rahil, drove expertly over the muddy terrain. It felt like a real life roller coaster! The Gobustan National Park is a world heritage site. The museum of human evolution as well as the rock museum are well maintained and explained very well by our guide, Sadaf. I learned for the first time that Zoroastrianism has its origin in Azerbaijan. The fire temple and burning mountain are holy pilgrimage spots.
