• Apart from its height (3,628m), Mount Babadag, located between the Ismayilli and Quba regions, is revered for its sanctity. “Baba” signifies respect, and Babadag (literally ‘Grandfather Mountain’) refers to a high, snow-covered mountain. Many sacred mountains worldwide share this name.
Additionally, the mountain is known by other names. Some refer to it as Qarli baba (Snowy Grandfather) due to its perpetually snow-capped peak. Others call it Hazrati Baba Ziyaretgahi (‘Grandfather’s Pilgrimage’), believing that visiting this place seven times bestows the honorific title of Hazrat, meaning ‘His Holiness’ or ‘Your Majesty.’

Lahij master craftsmen could create forty types of items related to Folk Art. These skilled craftsmen included jewelers, blacksmiths, carpenters, carpet makers, engravers, painters, tanners, shoemakers and bast shoe makers, sock weavers and others.
