- Instead of the usual Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, we explored other areas better suited for traveling with our 1-year-old. We took the gondola and chair lift—safe and doable with a baby carrier (our daughter was with my husband). The views from the top were breathtaking, and the easy pathways made it family-friendly. Just be prepared for mosquitoes—wear covered clothing! Highly recommended.

The BEST Gondola Ride is Sunshine Villiage - A local recommended Sunshine Gondolas to us, and I am ever so grateful. The drive to Sunshine was gorgeous, free parking, restaurants, bathrooms, courteous service and no crowds as in Banff. The gondola ride was about 25 minutes and then you transferred to a lift which was 5 to 8 minutes. The views were breathtaking, the smell of spruce and the quietness of the ride will be something I will always remember. There is a short walk to the View point and there were a number of hikes you could choose to take. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone.

Fun experience - Great views. We even saw a wolf below us on the ride down. Friendly staff. Plenty of free parking close by.

Canada 2025 - We were advised to go early, which we did so parking was fine. The ride up was so pretty and the family loved the hiking trails.

A beautiful ride to amazing mountain views!! - Sunshine meadows is a must do!!! We decided to take the less touristy gondola and we are so happy we did. The overlook of sunshine meadows is to die for, and the hike to Laryx lake was gorgeous! definitely pack bug repellent though, the mosquitos were hungry (we are here on July 1st). Side note, we came here on Canada day and it was so nice to escape the crowds, and sunshine village had cute Canada day activities like a live DJ and face painting.

Better than Banff gondola! - Further from town and crowds! Gondolas took 20 minutes and then a chairlift to the top. Amazing views! Bus was right on time and even the drive was enjoyable.

Broken gondola but it was beautiful at the top! - The gondola was broken the day we went so we had to take an old school bus up to the chairlift. The lakes were really pretty but when it was time to go back down the mountain, we had to reserve a time and there was a long wait time for the bus.

For hikers not sight seeing - This ride is for those you then want to hike the back country. Not for sight seeing. Not any great views. Total rip off.
