Arrive in Bangkok
Bangkok - Welcome to Thailand! Our driver will collect you from the airport, and from there, you’ll head to the hotel. Today is yours to relax and adjust to the time difference after your flight. Enjoy the pool or wander through the vibrant streets of Bangkok to get your first glimpse of this vast city. A refreshing massage at one of the many local parlors is a great way to overcome jetlag!
Bangkok City Tour
The Grand Palace - After breakfast, it’s time to explore Bangkok’s main attractions. A visit to one of the city’s most iconic buildings is a must: the royal palace with the Wat Phra Kaew temple. This temple is home to the Emerald Buddha. Although this Buddha is only 66 cm tall, it is the most significant religious symbol for the Thai people.
Wat Pho Thai Traditional Massage School - Wat Pho is the city’s largest and oldest temple, housing the reclining Buddha, which is 46 meters long and 15 meters high. Wat Pho is also renowned for its adjacent massage school, one of the best in the country.
Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market) - Next, visit one of Bangkok’s largest flower markets, located near China Town. Here, a variety of colorful and fragrant flowers are sold daily. Lunch will be at a local Thai restaurant. After lunch, you’ll explore Bangkok from the water. For an hour, you’ll sail through Bangkok’s canals, known as Thai klongs. The Chao Praya River, considered the city’s lifeline, runs through the city. With roads often congested, water transport is the solution. Numerous taxi boats travel along the Chao Praya River daily. Many people live in wooden stilt houses on the water. Along the way, you’ll encounter vendors offering their goods from boats. After this klong tour, you’ll return to your hotel. The evening is free for leisure.
Free Day in Bangkok
Bangkok - This day is yours to enjoy. Discover Bangkok on your own or, for instance, hop on a bicycle and experience the real Bangkok! The Thai people wave cheerfully as you cycle through their neighborhoods, with cooking happening everywhere and children playing. Then, cross the water by boat. On the other side of the river, it’s peaceful and lush; a completely different world. Concrete paths lead through fruit plantations. An experience not to be missed! In the evening, you can attend the extravagant Calypso Cabaret Show. This dance and music comedy show, performed by ladyboys, has been a staple in Bangkok for years and promises a fantastic night out.
Bangkok - Khao Yai
Khao Yai National Park - After breakfast, leave Bangkok for Khao Yai National Park. Thailand’s largest and oldest national park is just a 3-hour drive from Bangkok. It is home to many wild animals, including elephants and some tigers. Upon arrival at the park, stretch your legs with a pleasant walk. After lunch, visit the Haew Suwat waterfall. This national park is famous for a scene from The Beach! In the film, Leonardo DiCaprio jumps from this waterfall: a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. After the waterfalls, visit Khao Yai’s highest point, Khao Kiaw, where you can enjoy the spectacular view.
Khao Yai – Ayutthaya – Kanchanaburi
Ayutthaya - Early in the morning, depart for Ayutthaya, the city that was Thailand’s capital for 400 years. This city is home to many ancient temples, many of which were unfortunately destroyed by the Burmese. You’ll visit some of the city’s temples and ruins. A lunch stop is also included.
Bridge Over the River Kwai - Continue your journey to another historically significant city: Kanchanaburi. The city is near the Burmese border. During World War II, thousands of prisoners of war were forced to build the Burma Railway. This is why the Burma Railway is nicknamed the “Death Railway.” The first stop in Kanchanaburi is the JEATH war museum, designed like a Japanese camp. After the museum, visit “The Bridge over the River Kwai.” The bridge has been bombed several times in the past, which is evident. Currently, the bridge is still in use, and if you’re lucky, you’ll see a train moving slowly over it.
Erawan Waterfalls
Erawan Waterfalls - After a delicious breakfast, head to the Erawan waterfalls. Here, the water cascades down through seven tiers. The fifth tier is considered the most beautiful. It’s a bit of a climb, but definitely worth it. Afterwards, it’s wonderful to cool off in the crystal-clear water (so don’t forget your swimwear). The Erawan waterfalls are loved not only by humans but also by animals. Many birds live there, and macaques swing wildly in the trees.
River Kwai - After lunch, head to one of Thailand’s most unique accommodations: the floating hotel. The resort, consisting of bamboo rafts with houses on them, is in a truly picturesque location. Relax in your hammock and enjoy the surroundings. To cool off, simply jump into the river and let the current carry you. Remember to climb out at the last staircase, or you’ll drift to “The Bridge over the River Kwai.” Dinner will be served at the resort in the evening, with the sounds of the jungle and river in the background. Eventually, you’ll fall asleep while gently swaying with the river.
Kanchanaburi - Hua Hin
Damnoen Saduak - After breakfast, it’s time to head to your next destination: Hua Hin. On the way, visit the Floating Market and the train market. As you approach the floating market Damnoen Saduak, switch from the (mini) bus to a longtail boat. Cruise through a beautiful green oasis to the floating market. Along the way, pass authentic stilt houses. Upon arrival at the floating market, you’ll enter a different world. Even early in the morning, negotiations are underway to find the right price. The Thai skillfully navigate their boats with various merchandise. Stroll around the market and don’t forget your camera.
Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub) - After the floating market, visit another famous Thai market, the Maeklong train market. A market has been built on and along the railway. Every day, the Thai are busy buying and selling various items. However, this is disrupted several times a day. When the train signal sounds, buyers disappear, and sellers quickly remove their goods from the tracks. The train passes the market at a snail’s pace, after which sellers put their items back and continue as if nothing happened. A truly unique experience!
Hua Hin - In the late afternoon, arrive in Hua Hin for a few relaxing days filled with sun, sea, and beach.
Hua Hin
Hua Hin - These days are free for leisure. Hua Hin is also known as the royal beach resort, as the Thai king has vacationed here for many years. It is a very popular resort with both locals and tourists. In addition to the beautiful beaches, Hua Hin offers plenty of options for active holidaymakers. For example, you can go horseback riding on the beach or play golf! There’s also plenty to do in the evening. Hua Hin has many restaurants, from international to local Thai. However, the place is most famous for its numerous seafood restaurants. There’s also a lively night market, with fun souvenirs and authentic food stalls.
