Bangkok’s stunning Grand Palace spans 218,400 square meters and is encircled by walls constructed in 1782, each stretching 1,900 meters (6,230 feet). Inside these walls are government offices, the Royal Chapel of the Emerald Buddha, and the Thai royal residences.
- Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) - Next, visitors will uncover the extraordinary Wat Phra Kaeo, Thailand’s most exquisite and significant Buddhist temple. Its rich and intricate decorations create a “city of angels” ambiance from the moment one steps inside.
- Wat Phra Chetuphon - Arrive at Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha) to explore another of Bangkok’s magnificent temples. Established in the 16th century, it is the city’s oldest and largest temple, boasting the most pagodas (95 in total). It is also famous for its enormous Reclining Buddha, measuring 46 meters (150 feet) long and 15 meters (50 feet) high.
A short walk from Wat Pho, participants can experience a traditional Thai massage. Unlike other massages, the Thai style involves stretching and deep massage. This bodywork is typically performed on the floor, with the recipient changing into loose, comfortable clothing and lying on a mat or firm mattress.
- Temple Of Dawn (Wat Arun) - Then, take a brief stroll to Arun Residence and enjoy a drink as the sun sets behind Wat Arun from across the Chao Phraya River.
- Khaosan Road - Known as the heart of the backpacking world! Stalls line the streets with guesthouses, restaurants, and bars on both sides. Here, participants can savor street food before hopping on a Tuk Tuk for a ride into the vibrant city nights.
- Democracy Monument - The Democracy Monument is a public landmark located in the heart of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
- Wat Ratchanatdaram Woravihara (Loha Prasat) - Loha Prasat, meaning iron castle or iron monastery, was inspired by the one in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is the only one of its kind remaining today and was submitted to UNESCO for World Heritage Site status in 2005.
- The Golden Mount (Wat Saket) - Constructed on an artificial hill, the Golden Mount is the temple’s most famous landmark and a sacred pilgrimage site during the weeklong worship period in November. Reaching the top requires climbing approximately 300 steps, which spiral around the chedi like a loosely coiled snake.
