Nowadays, the palace is reserved for ceremonial purposes. Its architectural design closely mirrors that of the Grand Palace in the former capital, Ayutthaya, from approximately 600 years ago, as the King aimed to revive the city’s past grandeur. Initially constructed in traditional Thai style, the palace’s architecture has been influenced by various nations over different reigns, such as Chinese elements introduced by King Rama III in the early 19th century and Western styles brought in by King Rama V in the late 19th century.
- Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) - The Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most revered Buddha image, is housed within the temple’s ordination hall. Contrary to its name, the Emerald Buddha is crafted from high-quality green jade, not emerald. Discovered in 1432, this sacred image is a must-see for visitors to Thailand, who are encouraged to pray for good fortune.
- Wat Pho Thai Traditional Massage School - The exact origins of the Reclining Buddha Temple, or Wat Pho Temple, are unclear, but it is believed to have existed for over 300 years before the establishment of Thonburi and Bangkok as capitals. Visitors can admire Thailand’s most stunning Reclining Buddha image, which measures 46 meters in length and 15 meters in height.

Paula is a Legend! - Exploring Wat Pho with Paula was the highlight of our trip. She explained the meaning behind the beautiful patterns on the Reclining Buddha's feet, which we would have totally missed on our own. Such a warm and knowledgeable guide!

Family Fun and Culture with Jimmy - Traveling with a group can be chaotic, but Jimmy made it look easy. We visited all three major sites the Palace, the Reclining Buddha, and the beautiful Wat Arun. The kids were fascinated by the giant statues at Wat Pho. Jimmy was so energetic and kept everyone's spirits high even when it was humid. Jimmy was great at managing the logistics, so we never had to wait in long lines for tickets or boats. The highlight was definitely the view of the river from Wat Arun it was the perfect end to our tour.Jimmy really care about their guests, and it shows!

The Ultimate Grand Palace Experience - A truly spectacular day. The Grand Palace is an architectural wonder, and James ensured we didn't miss a single detail. We spent a good amount of time marveling at the golden chedis and the exquisite carvings that decorate every surface. It’s easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
The tour was perfectly organized with skip-the-line access, making the experience feel premium. James’s storytelling added so much depth to the visual beauty around us. If it’s your first time in Bangkok, this tour is an absolute must-do!

Cherry is the sweetest! - Cherry was such a joy to be around! She treated us like family. She even showed us where to get the best cold Thai tea near Wat Pho. The temples are breathtaking, but Cherry’s personality made the trip special.

Fabulous sites and guide! - Angie our guide met us promptly in our hotel lobby. Our day was spectacular, included , underground rail, tuk tuk and ferry to get us to the historic sites. We were educated on not only the palace, temples etc. but on Thai culture as well. These are a must see when visiting Bangkok. We spent 5-6 hours with Angie, but left feeling like she was a family member. We have taken tours worldwide but can say Angie was one of the most informative and definitely the sweetest guides we have ever had.

BANGKOK & PATTAYA EXCURSIONS - We’ve had the best two days in Bangkok and Pattaya with Poppy our guide & Bobby the driver. We loved the itinerary on both excursions it was perfect. Poppy is an amazing guide, nothing was too much trouble and she has made a lasting impression on us. We would highly recommend TAA, very well organised and good communication. The whole experience was excellent.

A Day Exploring Bangkok’s Top Temples - Today, my sister and I booked a tour with Poppy Friendly Trip, and our guide was Annie. She was really sweet and attentive throughout the day. We visited three temples, and I was truly impressed they were absolutely beautiful. I’m sure anyone coming to Bangkok has heard of these three temples. They’re stunning and definitely some of the city’s highlights. If you ever get the chance to visit, I highly recommend checking out these three temples!

Great Guide, Relaxed Pace, Beautiful Sights - I usually explore on my own, but this tour changed my mind. Poppy added so much context and small details that really brought the places to life. Enjoyable Temple Day - This tour felt easy from the moment we started. Our guide Miya explained things clearly without overloading us with information, which I really appreciated. The highlight was how well everything flowed no rushing, no confusion. Having someone knowledgeable guiding us made the temples feel more meaningful, not just places to walk through.
