Definitely do this! - This is deeply moving, and physically challenging at one point in the day. Well worth it. Ken is a very thoughtful guide, who understands how feelings are as important as facts. His Thai perspective is so very helpful and his knowledge base is impressive.

Brilliant! - This is a fantastic and must do trip. Ken our tour guide was exceptional and our driver Mr Yoon was lovely. Nothing was too much bother for them and we never felt rushed to complete the excursion. it was a long day but well worth it. We were well looked after with water and comfort breaks and the air conditioning in the comfortable van was welcome. The trip included a one hour train journey which was very picturesque and interesting. A visit to the the Kanchanaburi war cemetery was very moving and the Bridge didn't disappoint. We had a very nice lunch and also visted the JEATH war museum. We can't recommend this trip highly enough.

Really special and memorable. - We were picked up on time at our accommodation in Bangkok and greeted by our very welcoming Thai guide, Ken. He and his driver went all out to provide us with a day to reflect on and remember. We were very comfortable in the vehicle and cold water and refreshments were supplied in an onboard esky. Ken was very organised, professional, efficient and caring. Not to mention his English skills and historical/geographical knowledge. The places we visited were heart-wrenching and Ken and his driver did their very best to cheer us up and care for us. The train ride was organised perfectly by Ken where we had window seats and he advised us where and when to look at sights of interest. You will not miss the train if Ken is your guide!! He also arranged a lovely lunch spot with a reserved table with a view of the rail line. Excellent. We asked to add some beer to the esky for the long return journey to Bangkok and this was cheerily accommodated. It was a long emotionally-charged day that was made special by the tour team from Amazing Asia. Thank you. The only thing we suggest you let future guests know is to wear suitable shoes to walk the Hell Fire Pass track. I had sandals on but would have worn sports shoes/runners if I’d known it was so uneven.

Great experience!! - This was an amazing experience. Ken, our guide, went out of his way to make every part of the excursion tailored to suit our interests. He knew all the best places to stop, the best spots on the train for photos, and was just so lovely conveying the history of the trip and the importance of Hellfire pass (especially for Australian tourists). I would recommend this trip. Our driver and Ken made sure that we experienced everything (and you will never miss the train with Ken!).

Exceptional, Emotional Journey - Ken our tour guide made this trip memorable for us with his extensive knowledge. He introduced to the tour on our journey with photographs and background info. We were provided with water, iced coffee and soft drinks in plentiful supply and had a fabulous buffet lunch at a local Thai restaurant overlooking the Death Railway wooden bridge. Our train broke down on route to the restaurant but Ken managed the situation brilliantly and organised our driver to pick us up from a siding a short walk along the tracks, ensuring we had water. The whole experience was very emotive but so worth doing, stepping in the footsteps of the 1000s of POWs and enforced locals. Highly recommend and if you get Ken as your guide you won’t be disappointed. A very long day but so worth it!

Apparently you need Ken - After reading all of the so positives reviews we decided to take this tour, because we really wanted to see and know more about the Bridge. We did not have Ken as our guide, and maybe that was the big issue. Our guide was friendly but not informative at all. Also the promise water on board was not available. Ok she bought us 1 bottle each but that was it. We started at the bridge itself: no info but the sign and we got 30 min to walk the bridge. But no info or stories. She waited at the car. Then off to Hellfire’s Pass: one hour drive and almost there we heard that it was closed due to the earthquake the day before. Understandable, so 45 min drive back to a trainstation for the train ride. The ride was nice, but again nothing from the guide. Not even some explanation about the monks train wagon which we almost entered by accident. Then lunch was fine. After that we went to the Jeath museum, again no info, she only pushed the button for the movie. (Btw this museum is just a rebuild barrack with some pictures) We asked for drinks and she pointed across the street where we could buy some) Then the cemetery. Again she waited at the car. (Other guides walked with their customers). And that was it. Another long drive back to Bangkok, and again if we didn’t ask questions she would be silent most of the time. So I think this could be a worthwhile trip, but apparently only when you get Ken. For us it was lacking the information you expect when you book a private tour.
