Great food and history experience! - We enjoyed all the history and treats that David was able to provide. It is nice to see the city from a different lens. We really enjoyed the tour! On the trip we had several lobster rolls, but the one he took us to was the best one!

Foodie Walking Tour - This was such a fantastic tour. It is well worth the money. You will enjoy the sites the tour guide takes you on as well as the food of course! Our guide was Claire Daniel and it is a small tour; having only 6 people so you can hear clearly and service at all the restaurants was fantastic.

Great food tastings and history of Bar Harbor - The tour walked around different areas of town. This wasn’t our first visit but we still walked areas that were new to us. We ate delicious food as we learned about Bar Harbor. We are definitely going to go back to the restaurants we tasted at. We are also going to walk back to the Shore Path. David, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and helpful with his advice about what to do and where to go in the area.

Bar Harbor - History on a Plate - Dave does an exceptional job of providing insight into the history of Bar Harbor mixed with a delightful collection of tasty treats. You’ll cover about two miles at a reasonable pace and a nice collection of local sites. Enjoy the famous Maine doughnuts, crab cake, clam chowder, lobster role, and ice cream. As an introduction to Bar Harbor, this is a great start.

Savor the Seafood (and blueberries)! - Lots of seafood options and emphasis on blueberries. Great stories about Maine food culture and commerce. Interesting history of Bar Harbor. All the restaurants were welcoming.

History and lots of food! - Loved the combination of historical facts and large variety of local treats. Everything was very tasty! Blueberry doughnut, clam chowder, crabcakes, lobster roll, and ice cream. Plus a stop at an oil and vinegar tasting room. A fun way to explore Bar Harbor.

Eating around Bar Harbor - We had a wonderful tour led by Charlie who is very knowledgeable about the area and could answer any questions you had. We enjoyed all the stops and overall had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful area to walk in. The tour started with us walking by some beautiful former summer “cottages”and ended with a desert to go which was perfect as I was too full to eat it then.

Very expensive food tour - Having done food tours all over the world, this was by far the most expensive food tour I have ever done and it contained no drinks. Stops included a donut, crab cake, 1/2 of a $19.95 lobster roll, clam chowder and a single scoop ice cream cone. Guide was knowledgeable and company was great, not crowded. Not sure I would recommend for the food.

Skip breakfast and come hungry! - The tour includes all the local favorites and gives you and good history of both the food and the town. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was an amble through the town with stops at 5 separate places for each course. The food did not disappoint. It was spread out over 3 hours so you are satisfied but not stuffed and get to enjoy each course with a little walk in between.

Not great for the price. - After taking Foodie Tours in other states, we were excited to take one in Bar Harbor. Overall, we found the trip to disappointing although the food was good. The tour guide David, although pleasant had a heavy focus on the architectural history of the town and little to none on the food or culinary scene. He neglected to introduce himself other than his name. No mention of his background or if her was from Maine or Bar Harbor. He was asked half was though the day by a participant. He never asked where anyone was from. But he was very knowledgeable on town history. Just seemed like the wrong tour. Some yes but it was way too much.
We were nearly 45 minutes into the trip before we had our first food item - a blueberry scone down by the ocean. (A beautiful spot!) No mention of where the scone was made or if it was even made locally? No mention about wild blueberries being one of the biggest exports in Maine. Just more of the history on the town that we were given on the walk down.
Second stop, a very tasty crab cake at a local restaurant. No discussion by David on anything pertaining to the food. Not that it was made with fresh local crabmeat. Not that there are two different types of crab caught commonly in lobster traps. In fact, often there were just long awkward silences at food locations.
Mini lobster roll was very good but the location was not. It appeared to be at the local dive bar.
Vinegar tasting at Fiore could be omitted. It's all imported from Italy although the attempt to tie in the one with blueberries was noted. Background on Fiore could have been given. Locally owned?
The cup of clam chowder was tasty and the location was lovely. David did mention the difference between New England and Manhattan clam chowder.
Lastly, the ice cream at Mt. Dessert ice cream was delicious. No mention that the ice cream was made locally. On the participants asked the girl scooping the ice cream.
Had it not been $322 plus a tip to the guide, we may have been less critical but for that price it was lacking. Has the potential to be great however with some tweaking.
