- Bodega LAUS - Established in 2002, Bodega LAUS is a winery that feels like an “island in Somontano,” surrounded by water, vineyards, flowers, sunshine, air, and life. The name LAUS is derived from Latin, meaning “Praise, congratulations, consideration,” which perfectly embodies the spirit of this Somontano winery. The logo symbolizes the earth in I Ching symbolism, representing the essence, territory, and soil of the vineyard. Visitors will enjoy a guided tour of the winery followed by a tasting of three of its prominent wines, paired with local snacks.
- Castillo de Alquezar - A guide will lead the tour through the town of Alquezar, including visits to the Castle and the collegiate church of Santa Maria La Mayor. Originally built in the 9th century by Khalaf ibn Rasid to defend against the northern Christian kingdoms, it was captured around 1067 by Sancho Ramírez, son of Ramiro I, and transformed into a Christian fortress named “Castrum Alqueçaris.” As the Reconquest advanced towards Barbastro or Huesca, the fortress lost its military significance and became a religious institution. In 1099, Sancho Ramírez established a community of Augustinian canons in Alquézar, constructing a Romanesque collegiate church, later replaced in the 16th century by a late Gothic structure, of which only the atrium with historiated capitals remains. The Gothic cloister, built in the 14th century, closely resembles Romanesque style. The current Collegiate was completed in the first half of the 16th century.
