• Barcelona - The tour begins at 8:30 AM as we depart from the city of Barcelona. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey.

Hotel pickups are scheduled between 8:00 and 8:30 AM (approximately 30 minutes), followed by a 90-minute drive to our first destination.

• L’Eixample District - As we leave the city, we pass through this renowned area, known for its landmarks and stunning architecture.
• Dali Theatre-Museum - Around 10 AM, we arrive in Figueres, the birthplace of Dali, which hosts the world’s largest and most significant collection of his works at the iconic Dali Theatre-Museum. This museum is likely unlike any other you’ve visited! It’s a journey into Dali’s surreal world of imagination. This masterpiece, “the largest surrealist monument ever created,” was entirely designed and decorated by Dali himself, offering a walk through his life. In the morning, you’ll receive detailed commentary from your expert guide, and after a brief introduction inside the museum, you’re free to explore, wonder, and immerse yourself in Dalí’s imagination at your own pace. We encourage personal interpretation, something the artist valued greatly.
• Figueres - We spend the morning in this charming city near the French border, with a history dating back to the Middle Ages when it was founded in the 9th century. There are several squares, charming streets with shops, a beautiful ‘Rambla’ promenade, and various tributes to Dali in the old city, all of which can be explored during your free time. We spend about 2.5 hours here, including your museum visit.
• Cap de Creus National Park - As we drive, we pass through this mountainous protected National Park surrounding the town of Cadaqués. It offers spectacular views of the Empordà region, the beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava, and possibly the Pyrenees mountains in the distance. Pay close attention to the scenery, and you’ll find many elements that inspired Dali’s imagination.
• Cadaques - At 1:30 PM, we arrive in Cadaqués! In our opinion at Joyous Tours, this is the jewel of the Costa Brava. It’s a stunning and well-preserved old fishing village with white-washed houses, very Mediterranean. You have plenty of free time to enjoy a Mediterranean lunch with some of the freshest fish and seafood and to explore the village.
• Salvador Dali House - At 3:30 PM, after a delightful lunch, we take the scenic route through the protected National Park of Cap de Creus to show you more of this unique landscape as we head to the stunning Portlligat Bay. This was the most inspirational place in the world for Dalí and where most of his famous paintings were created. Here, we’ll find his house and studio, Dali and Gala’s private little paradise. We’ll be guided through the house, visit his studio, and later spend free time in the garden. Then we head back to Barcelona. During the drive back, you can reflect on this unique experience or take a quick nap.

*Sometimes, for bookings made close to the tour date during the busy season (April-Sept.), the Dali House may be sold out. In this case, we won’t be able to do the 30-minute visit inside the house, but we will still visit the bay, provide explanations from outside, and cover the garden area.

• Barcelona - We return to Barcelona around 7 PM. We bring you back to your accommodations, concluding a memorable day. Hopefully, it made you shine like Dalí’s mustache!

The tour concludes with a visit to Dalí’s residence at “Portlligat Bay,” the private haven of Dalí & Gala.
