• Plaza de Ramon Berenguer el Gran - The Gótico Food Tour begins here, guiding you through Barcelona’s renowned Ciutat Vella (old city): past ancient Roman walls, beside cathedrals, through charming plazas, and most importantly, in-and-out of quaint, local eateries that will leave you satisfied, cheerful, and with a deeper appreciation of local Catalan and Spanish cuisine.
• Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar - On our way between dining spots, we will encounter many significant landmarks in the Gothic Quarter, including the “Catedral Del Mar”, constructed between 1329 and 1383, showcasing an outstanding example of Catalan Gothic architecture.
• Muralla Romana - We will also pass by remnants of Barcelona’s Roman city wall (Muralla Romana), primarily built in the 3rd century to defend against invaders.
• Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic) - Our entire tour revolves around the Gothic Quarter, the oldest section of Barcelona. Its maze-like streets, many leading to hidden squares, are now mostly pedestrian-friendly. It’s a perpetually captivating neighborhood, home to excellent shops and, naturally, some of the finest restaurants.
• Placa de Sant Jaume - As we stroll between dining venues, we will pass through and briefly discuss some of the beautiful streets and plazas, such as the Plaça de Sant Jaume and the Plaça Sant Just. (The exact route depends on the selection of restaurants for that evening.)
• El Born / La Ribera - While the tour primarily focuses on the iconic Gothic Quarter, we often traverse parts of other picturesque old areas of the Ciutat Vella (Old City): El Born and La Ribera.
