- Eixample - 8:30 am - Depart Barcelona through the Eixample district. As you leave the city, your guide will share a brief history of Barcelona, allowing you to relax during the 90-minute drive to Besalú.
- Bridge of Besalú - 10:00 am - Our first stop is the enchanting medieval village of Besalú. Embark on a walking tour of this historic town, pausing to admire its streets adorned with medieval architecture. Enjoy free time to explore the narrow streets or find a cozy café to watch the world go by. Highlights include the 12th-century Romanesque bridge, the 11th-century Monastery of St. Pere, and the Jewish Baths, or Mikveh, dating back to the 12th century.
- Castellfollit de la Roca - 12:30 pm - From Besalú, we proceed to Rupit, passing by Castellfollit de la Roca, perched on the edge of a basalt cliff. It’s one of Catalonia’s smallest towns, with just 1,000 residents living in an area of 3,280 square feet (1,000 square meters).
- Rupit - 1:00 pm - Upon arrival in Rupit, enjoy approximately two hours to explore this charming hamlet at your own pace. Wander the cobblestone streets lined with 16th-century houses, cross the town’s hanging wooden bridge, and visit Rupit’s baroque Church of Sant Miquel. This is also where you’ll have lunch, with several traditional restaurants to choose from. Your guide can assist with recommendations or reservations. After lunch, visit the ruins of the Castle of Rupit on a scenic rocky peak, or enjoy a picnic outdoors. From Rupit, we take a picturesque drive towards the sandstone cliffs at Cingles de Tavertet.
- Tavertet - 4:00 pm - In Tavertet, the final medieval village on our tour, take a short walk to the breathtaking cliffs overlooking Pantà de Sau lake. Learn a few details about the village from your guide before visiting the 11th-century Romanesque Church of Sant Cristòfol.
- Montseny - 5:30 pm - Conclude your journey with a return trip to Barcelona, enjoying views of lush green forests like Magatalls and the UNESCO-listed El Montseny natural park.
- Plaza de Catalunya - 6:45 pm - After a day of historical exploration, arrive back in Barcelona around 6:45 pm. Your guide will assist you in finding a taxi or the metro to return to your hotel, or recommend some excellent dining options for dinner.
