• Barcelona - 8:30 AM marks the beginning of the tour as we depart from Barcelona city. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey as we take care of everything!

Hotel pickups will occur between 8:00 and 8:30 (approximately 30 minutes), followed by a 90-minute drive to our first destination.

• L’Eixample District - As we leave, we’ll pass through this renowned area of the city, known for its landmarks and stunning architecture.
• Besalu - 10:00 AM Arrival at Besalú. This protected National Historic Monument offers a historical introduction and breathtaking views of the old city before we cross the iconic 11th-century medieval bridge.

We’ll embark on a walking tour through the old town, exploring the narrow alleys of ancient architecture and highlighting the main attractions. It will feel like stepping back in time 1,000 years! Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to explore on your own.

We’ll provide a comprehensive understanding of the history of Catalonia (& Spain), laying a solid foundation. Our visit to Besalú is a fantastic way to start the day. (Our next drive will take approximately 1 hour)

• Rupit - 1:00 PM - Rupit, a medieval stone village, is nestled in the forest and built into the rock. Its cobblestone streets are captivating. We’ll first cross the famous ‘hanging’ bridge to enter the town. Once inside, it’s like stepping into a fairytale.

Upon arrival, we’ll have a short guided walking tour, highlighting points of interest, activities, and dining suggestions. You’ll have lunch at your leisure (at your own expense). This is your chance to savor authentic Catalonian cuisine! It’s very traditional and delicious, often found in rural and mountainous areas (sometimes hard to find even in Barcelona). There are also beautiful hiking trails in the area, with stunning nature, plus you can explore the town further in your free time.

• Los Riscos de Tavertet - On our way to the next town, we’ll make an additional stop (weather permitting), venturing off-road into the Guilleries Nature Reserve to enjoy the breathtaking views from the top of the impressive sandstone cliffs of Tavertet, overlooking the plains of Catalunya state. It’s one of the most remarkable viewpoints in Catalunya! We’ll capture memorable photos, relish the tranquility of this place, and take a deep breath of fresh mountain air before continuing. The next town is just around the corner!
• Tavertet - 4:00 PM - We arrive at our final village, a serene and secluded old shepherd’s town, where we’ll visit the local 1,000-year-old Romanesque church, take a stroll through the village, and end at another stunning viewpoint. We’ll conclude with these views before heading back to Barcelona. (This drive is slightly longer than the morning one. We’ll return via a different route, creating a large circle throughout Catalunya to ensure you see as much as possible along the way)
• Barcelona - 6:30 PM (approx.) - After approximately a 1.5-hour drive, we’ll return to Barcelona. We’ll drop you off at your accommodation, concluding the tour.
