- Abadia de Montserrat - Upon arrival at 7:40 am, there will be a walk to the Abbey to explore Montserrat’s history. At 8:00 am, a visit to the Abbey and the Black Madonna will take place without waiting in line. From approximately 8:20 am, there will be an hour of free time to explore the Abbey, enjoy breakfast, or relax.
- Montana de Montserrat - The hiking tour will commence at 9:40 am. This area is exclusive to locals as it is not accessible by public transport, ensuring a peaceful experience. The hike will cover at least 5.57 km (3.46 miles) with an elevation gain of 194 meters (636 feet). Additional distance and elevation can be added if desired. For those preferring to hike independently, guidance on available routes will be provided. The hike offers views of the mountain from both inside and outside perspectives. A visit to a bakery will conclude the hike.
- Barcelona - The return journey to Barcelona will begin at 12:40 pm, with an anticipated arrival at 1:30 pm.

Experience the exclusive trip that reaches Montserrat at 7:30 AM. Departing from Barcelona by van, this journey accommodates 7 guests, with pick-ups scheduled between 6:15 AM and 6:45 AM from various locations, including your hotel or nearby if located in the Eixample area.
The first stop is the Abbey and the Black Madonna, where visitors can admire this remarkable 12th-century artwork without the hassle of queues. Following this, there is nearly an hour of free time until 9:20 AM, allowing for breakfast, extended exploration of the Abbey, or other activities.
At 9:20 AM, the group will take a 15-minute van ride to another Montserrat location for a hiking tour. Participants can choose between two routes:
- A 5.86 km (3.64 miles) hike with an elevation gain and loss of 246 meters (807 feet).
- A 6.09 km (3.78 miles) hike with an elevation gain of 200 meters (656 feet).
The hike takes place entirely on forest paths, free from stairs and paved surfaces, offering a serene experience with only local hikers around. The return to Barcelona is scheduled for 12:40 PM, with an expected arrival at 1:30 PM.

Fantastic tour and so... - Fantastic tour and so worth getting up early for! The hike was one of the most enjoyable things i did in Barcelona. Albert was our driver/guide and he was great!

It's a very nice trip and... - It’s a fantastic trip, especially because you arrive at the monastery before the crowds. You can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and then head out for a beautiful hike.

This is a unique tour.... - This is a unique tour. The guide Albert is full of energy. He is both knowledgable and attentious to details. The tour description is exact. You will do a wonderful hike through the mountains above the abbey in places where no one else is going. Due to the early start, there will be no crowd and no lines, with the sunrise as an welcome bonus. Loved the whole experience.

Fantastic tour and hike. A highlight of our trip to Spain. - Albert was delightful and flexible. He was very knowledgeable about the history and provided great conversation while on the hike. He made it pleasant for those who wanted a challenging hike and those who struggled a bit. He was funny and engaging both in English and in Spanish. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Spain.

Exciting hike with stunning views - This was my favourite tour while visiting Barcelona. Albert is an excellent, affable and funny guide who patiently got us to the summit of the mountain at Montserrat. The hike took around 1.5 hours from the monastery to the top. It was somewhat steep and at times challenging but absolutely worth it for some breathtaking views at the end. Albert’s knowledge of the history of Montserrat, as well as Catalonia more broadly, made it even worthwhile. I cannot recommend more highly. It was just so much fun!

What an amazing... - What an amazing experience from start to finish! Albert was full of energy, super organised, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable — he made the day so enjoyable from the very first moment.
We started early, which was the perfect time to visit the monastery — peaceful, quiet, and beautifully foggy as the sun came up. Seeing the Black Madonna before the crowds arrived was really special.
The hike was very challenging but absolutely worth it for the breathtaking views from the top! Albert was so supportive and encouraging the whole way, keeping everyone motivated and laughing. My legs are feeling it now 😅 but I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.
Highly recommend this tour — a must-do when in Barcelona!

Best Experience - Sunrise, Views, Hike & History Lesson - The best experience of our trip to Barcelona. Loved that this was a small group of 7. We got up super early to drive to Montserrat to view the sunrise, which was magical. The light was amazing on the mountains and on the monastery. After taking dozens of photos, we then made our way into the monastery to view the Black Madonna, all the while our guide giving us the history of everything we saw. We then grabbed a snack before we started hiking. It is not a technical hike but it is a climb (nature's stairmaster). Albert was great at sensing the breaks the group needed all the while keeping us on time and also very informed our surroundings. He also provided us with water on hike so no real need to carry anything. The views from the top were stunning. After we came down, we had a bit of time to get food and to see what the farmer's market had to offer. We took the cable car down where Albert was waiting for us with the van to go back to Barcelona. We had an amazing time.

Albert was an amazing guide! His knowledge of Montserrat and its history made the hike so much more meaningful, and his personable, quirky, and fun personality kept us smiling the whole way. He made sure to greet and connect with all guests every step of the tour, which made it feel so personal and welcoming. The hike itself was a great challenge with incredible views. Highly recommend this tour if you want both adventure and an unforgettable experience!

Great day trip for hikers! - Excellent early morning experience that allowed for us to visit to the Monastery and see the Black Madonna before the crowds arrived. Our guide Albert provided a very informative tour and hike. The terrain and elevation gain is as described for the hike. Wear hiking shoes or athletic shoes with a grip for the terrain which can be a little steep while going up and down the trails. Lots of stone steps and rocky surfaces in some places, but the hike is well worth the effort. Sadly on the day we hiked there was a lot of mist but we had a very memorable experience.

Great quiet early morning tour - Albert was a great guide! We ended up being the only people on the tour today, Albert gave us lots of insight but also allowed us time to explore on our own. I highly recommend taking this early tour, because visiting the church was so peaceful and quiet in the early morning, and we didn’t have to wait at all.
