• Abadia de Montserrat - Visit the Basilica of Montserrat, home to the tranquil image of the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia, a polychrome Romanesque sculpture dating from the 12th century.

Legend has it that in the year 880, some shepherd boys discovered a statue of the black madonna, the “Moreneta,” in a grotto. A chapel was constructed on this site, which soon became a place of pilgrimage.
