- Carrer dels Tallers - This is a renowned and iconic spot for skate culture, being one of the first skater bars in Spain. It is a popular meeting place for punk-rock, hip hop, trap, metal, and rock’n’roll enthusiasts from Catalonia. The bar boasts a distinctive aesthetic, and the prices for beers and cocktails are very reasonable.
- Carrer de Joaquín Costa - The second stop will be a uniquely different bar, where a reserved space awaits. It is one of Spain’s most acclaimed cocktail bars, with Dani Gomez and Andres being the most esteemed bartenders in the Raval district. This is the perfect place to enjoy a premium drink, making it the best cocktail bar in the city and our second tour stop.
- Cat, Fernando Botero - El Gato de Botero: The tour will pause in front of the famous El Gato de Botero statue, where anecdotes about the Raval district and local artistic movements will be shared.
- Carrer de Sant Pau - The third bar will be a surprise, an iconic piece of Barcelona’s nightlife history. Established in 1820 in Raval, it is reputed to be Barcelona’s first bar, with legends of Picasso, Dalì, and Hemingway frequenting it at some point in its storied past.
Despite the thickening grime on the chandeliers, the increasingly worn floor tiles, and the spreading cobwebs, the bar’s allure continues to grow. Patrons can enjoy the historical ambiance as much as the venue’s renowned absinthe. With the lively scene of pimps, prostitutes, and thieves outside, visitors are truly in the heart of Barcelona’s nightlife, largely unchanged since the 19th century.
Woody Allen filmed a scene from Vicky Cristina Barcelona here.
Rosalia’s latest video was also shot at this location.
- Carrer de Lancaster - Each bar in Barcelona has its own unique charm, and this one is no exception. It is a transformed piece of the city’s history and a key gathering spot for Barcelona’s youth. With dim lighting, rap or electronic music, and affordable prices, it is the classic last stop before heading to a club, likely the most budget-friendly bar in the city.
- Ocaña - The final bar will be Ocaña, the most significant LGBTIQ+ bar. It is a grand historic building that retains its original features. Entering Ocaña feels like a journey back to the Belle Époque, with its golden columns and furnishings, reminiscent of European antique markets and top design studios (lighting by Lumières Studio in Paris).
After exploring the restaurant and cafe, visitors will ascend to the ground floor to find the Club and Apotheke, a unique cocktail bar. It is a sensory experience and an original journey without leaving Barcelona. Ocaña is named in honor of José Pérez Ocaña, an artist who lived nearby for 12 years. Ocaña was a performer, artist, painter, and LGBT rights activist in Spain, known for resisting the Franco dictatorship.
- Plaça Reial - The tour will conclude at Plaza Reial, one of Barcelona’s most famous nightlife squares.
At the end of the tour, participants will receive a ticket to a historic nightclub: a small, dark, and intimate club near Las Ramblas in the heart of Barcelona. It is an eclectic venue popular with locals, featuring a single room with a dance floor, a long bar, and a small stage. The music varies greatly depending on the night, with bands, DJ sets of rock, electronic, disco, or funk music, offering a surprise element! (The entrance fee to the disco is only 2 euros at the door.)
