- Eixample - 8:30 am - Depart Barcelona through the Eixample district. As you leave the city, the guide will share a brief history of Barcelona, allowing you to relax during the 90-minute drive to Tarragona.
- Pont del Diable - 10:00 am - The first stop is just beyond Tarragona, where you will explore the remarkable Roman Aqueduct (1st century BC), known as ‘El Pont del Diable’ (The Devil’s Bridge) or ‘Les Ferreres’ Aqueduct. This structure was once part of the city’s water supply network and remains in excellent condition. You can walk across its top, experiencing the awe of standing on a structure nearly 2,000 years old! Afterward, travel back to Tarragona.
- Anfiteatro - 11:00 am - Arrive in Tarragona, quietly entering the old city through a narrow gateway in the ancient walls. The modern city overlaps the ancient Acropolis, and during the visit, you will witness the fascinating blend of Roman history and contemporary life. Starting at the Archaeological walkway, admire the enduring stone walls, explore the historic old quarter, pass the medieval hospital, and stop at the Cathedral to enjoy the Sunday morning antique market. Continue through the old town to discover the Roman Forum and the nearby Roman Circus, hidden within the urban landscape. Walk along the underground passageways that supported the Circus’ stands and reach Placa de la Font, a popular square within the old town, located inside the Roman Circus. If you stand still and close your eyes, you might almost hear the chariots racing by. On this very spot, thousands of years ago, perhaps on the same day of the week, the Roman capital of the Iberian Peninsula came alive in all its dramatic glory. Finally, enjoy the stunning sea view over the Roman amphitheater and imagine gladiators battling fiercely! It’s a moving experience to stand on the same ground that witnessed countless scenes of sacrifice and passion. Perhaps most intriguing is the Christian church built in the middle of the stage using the same blocks from the amphitheater. After immersing in Roman history, meet the guide to continue the tour around 1:00 pm.
- El Roc de Sant Gaieta - 1:30 pm - On the way to Sitges, make a brief stop at Roc de Sant Gaieta, a charming village nestled on the rocky shoreline. Wander between its quaint white houses and let your imagination transport you to Ibiza fishing villages with a hint of Roman-Greco charm.
- La Playa de Sitges - 2:30 pm - The final stop of the day is in Sitges. This once quiet fishing village now features a long sandy beach, trendy boutiques, and intriguing sights. Sitges has been a fashionable destination since the 1890s. Lose yourself in its shaded side streets and soak in the Mediterranean ambiance with its old whitewashed fisherman’s houses. After navigating this delightful maze, find yourself on the seafront. Pause at one of the many cosmopolitan cafes and restaurants and imagine being in St. Tropez. Sitges offers dining options for every taste and budget. After a leisurely lunch, consider visiting one of the town’s 17 beaches for a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean or explore the numerous shops and cafes. Depart Sitges around 5:30 pm.
- Plaza de Catalunya - 7:00 - 7:15 pm - Conclude the day at Plaça Catalunya. From here, easily access the metro or a taxi back to your hotel. Alternatively, the guide will gladly offer dinner recommendations.
