Wish I could give this tour 6 stars or more - I cannot recommend this tour enough. Henrietta was an incredible guide. Her knowledge of the history, but more than that her ability to explain highly complex historical developments and political disputes in clear terms gave us a real education in modern Spanish history. Her passion and her commitment to remembering this history and making sure it does not get lost was moving. We were traveling with two middle schoolers (both of them very into history) and they said they appreciated how she made the tour understandable to them but never talked down to them and trusted them to understand complex ideas.

An Exploration of a Radical History - My partner and I visited Barcelona in mid January this year. It’s not a stretch to say that exploring Barcelona’s deep radical and anarchist history was a big part of the draw of this portion of our Euro trip. Henrietta did not disappoint. Not only was she kind and very personable, but she’s brilliant and incredibly well informed. As much as we knew going into this tour, there was so much more to learn. It was amazing to walk about these places that at first glance seem unremarkable, but then learn of the battles that happened there almost a century ago while Henrietta pointed out the bullet holes still evident. It was the extraordinary sitting right there alongside the ordinary. We highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in history. You will be glad you did.
