Her energy, knowledge, and personable approach made this experience one of the highlights of our trip. She expertly guided us through Bari’s culinary and architectural treasures: Il Salumiere Nino for excellent salumi and cheeses, Meh! for their famous panzerotto (truly “the greatest panzerotto in Bari old town”), Mastrociccio - Mordi La Puglia for authentic local specialties, and finished with gelato. We also walked the famous street where the pasta nonnas hand-roll orecchiette daily – a genuine Bari tradition. Between food stops, Frederica showed us the stunning St. Nicholas Basilica with its Romanesque portal and sculptures, plus the Bari Cathedral (San Sabino) where she explained the famous rose window phenomenon – sunlight shines directly through on June 21.
