Beautiful Basel - Guide was informative and passionate about Basel. She showed us all the important sights. The experience was great. She was easy to communicate with.

Paola is the best! - Paola was an absolutely lovely tour guide! She was friendly, lively, knowledgeable and overall just a fun person! Even with English not being her first language, she spoke wonderfully and clearly. I could not imagine walking through Basel and not getting a tour from her. She changed our entire view of the city, and even showed us all the tiny details that the average person would miss. If I’m ever in Basel again, my wife and I will likely take the longer tour with her. Cannot recommend Paola enough!

Perfect guide for a delightful day! - Rahel was so informed. She knew the city well as well as all the history that told the story of Basel. We had some mobility challenges and with our transit pass we were able to navigate all the places of interest. She took note of my love of photography and use of my SLR camera. Rahel regularly positioned me for perfect foto opportunities. Over 200 pictures later I was delighted. She even recommended a local eatery for traditional dishes. We parted ways with her and went to the restaurant which just enhanced a magical day! Absolutely magnificent!!!!

Great tour with Rahel - We learned so much from Rahel on our tour of Basel and it quickly became one of our favorite cities. Rahel was very knowledgeable and showed us so many sites we would have missed on our own.

Having a private tour is... - Having a private tour is certainly worth it. Michael is very knowledgeable about Basel history. Because there was only 3 of us, he was able to address our initial and follow-up questions. We covered a lot of ground in the 2 hours, and he took us to off-the-beaten track areas of Basel where we would never have discovered by ourselves.

History of Basel city - Michael was very thorough in his explanations of old Basel city. Both my husband and I enjoy listening to the history of the areas we visit so this was perfect. He took us to areas that we probably wouldn't have seen on our own and gave us recommendations for what to do the next few days we are in Basel. We did go on our tour on a Monday, and some places he tried to show us were closed. I recommend that if you are in Basel a few days try to avoid Sundays or Mondays as some businesses and museums are closed.

Educational and exciting journey of discovery through past and present - It is a special experience to be guided through the city of Basel as competently as it is humorous, and to linger in places that even I as a local have not seen before. The present and the past thus combined to form an exciting overall picture. Excellent!!

The visit seemed... - The visit seemed poor, we do not know if the city did not have much to do or if 3 hours was too many.

Tour less suitable for locals - I'm a little disappointed with the tour. Growing up in the Basel area, I gave my father a tour to learn more details and background about Basel's old town. Before the tour started, I wrote very clearly what we would like to know on the tour, as we as locals know the places. The tour was anything but tailor-made, but we were offered the standard route, which was clearly not wanted. Even after our guide learned at the beginning that we were from Basel, we continued to be served information, which was far from exciting for us about restaurants, everyday things that are known for us etc. instead of the stories and wishes that I communicated in advance. The tour was a gift for my father to learn more about historical background and unknown details of his city. Unfortunately, we were disappointed and at the price. My ideas were different, that an experienced Basler told us what we don't know yet.
What I would like to end by mentioning is: The tour is definitely suitable for tourists who are in Basel for the first time. It summarizes the more famous places. The tour guide was very friendly and made an effort. But I wouldn’t recommend the tour for restaurants, as many of the stories are neither new nor interesting.
