As you pass through on your way to the Swan Valley, you’ll see heritage buildings and sites that shaped the first century of Western Australian settlement. There’s also a chance to explore antique and curiosity shops, along with one of the region’s finest bakeries.
- Yahava KoffeeWorks - For a caffeine boost before wine tastings, this is the spot. Grab a coffee to go or enjoy a tasting for a small fee, offering an introduction to the world of coffee.
- Lancaster Wines - Situated on the banks of the Swan River, Lancaster features some of the oldest vines in the Swan Valley. These vines produce exceptional wines, including Chenin Blanc, Verdelho, Chardonnay, the legendary Old Vines Shiraz, and the delightful dessert wine – Late Picked Chenin. A standard tasting costs around $5 and includes a local cheese pairing. Tasting fees are not included in the tour.
- Swan Valley - It’s important to know that this tour can be customized to your interests. The list here is not a fixed itinerary. The Swan Valley Day Tour includes stops at various larger estates and smaller family wineries. Most offer tastings for a small fee, with some including delicious local cheeses. The region also boasts excellent beer breweries, spirits distilleries, chocolate, honey, and nougat businesses. Many stops at local points of interest are offered, which larger tour operators cannot include due to size and time constraints. Many visitors with no interest in alcohol have enjoyed the Swan Valley for its history, attractions, and great dining options.
- Old Young’s - True to their name, Old Young’s blends tradition with new techniques and a flair for the unusual (think cold-drip coffee, pavlova-flavored vodka, and a gin called Old BAG). These hand-crafted, high-quality spirits are made using some of the world’s finest raw materials (barley malt, wheat, spring water, grapes, and fruit). Hosted tastings are available seven days a week, allowing you to try the full range of Old Young’s vodkas and gins, either neat or with a dash of hand-picked mixer. Tastings are $5 per person and are additional to the tour.
- Feral Brewing Brewpub - Feral Brewing Co. is perfect for those who take their beer seriously. With a deep respect for traditional brewing methods, the Feral team brews beers full of character and complexity – a style that is deliberately, distinctly, and unapologetically Feral. The brews here are adventurous, from the valley’s first barrel-aged barley wine to a range of experimental and seasonal beers born from the most creative minds. Their Swan Valley Brewpub features an experimental brewery, barrel aging shed, market garden, restaurant, and beer garden. Tasting paddles and lunch are additional costs to the tour.
- Upper Reach Winery - A small family-owned winery offering tastings and a restaurant with excellent products and a relaxed atmosphere.
- Two Birds Fromagerie - An optional stop offering a wide selection of local and Australian cheeses with wine flights at a small discounted additional fee.
- John Kosovich Wines - Established in 1922 with vines nearly 100 years old, Kosovich Winery is one of the oldest wineries in the Swan Valley and the oldest still run by the original family. They offer an impressive wine tasting of Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, and Verdelho.
- The House of Honey - A remarkable local produce business with a fantastic selection of local honey products and mead tastings. The refreshing non-alcoholic ginger sparkling is excellent.

The Swan Valley is one of the only wine regions within a 30 minute drive of a major capital city anywhere in the world. It is also one of the oldest wine growing regions in Australia.
Over 40 wineries, breweries and distilleries operate in the valley, and there is a huge choice of restaurants as well. There is a strong tradition of fortified winemaking and a long record of producing whites that are simple, fresh and crisp. The reds grown in the valley are known for their remarkable softness and drinkability at an early age.
A rustic charm fills this region and a number of talented artists and craftsmen live here. Blacksmiths & Metal Craftsmen, Stonemasons & Fabric designers to name a few. To visit the region for the wine and food alone is a missed opportunity so I include these wonderful creative options for you.
Tastings & Lunch costs are extra.
