- Bastogne - Next, we’ll visit the main square and take pictures of the Sherman tank there. Next to the Sherman stands the statute of U.S. Army General Anthony McAuliffe and the nearby Le Musée du Cochon where we’ll sample delicious Ardennes hams and have lunch at a local bakery.
- BASTOGNE BARRACKS - The Bastogne War Rooms, an iconic location from World War II, house the McAuliffe’s historical cellar where on December 22, 1944, Brigadier General McAuliffe of the 101st Airborne Division uttered his famous “NUTS” in response to the surrender request from German forces besieging the town of Bastogne.

Fabulous Tour; Highly Recommend - If I could give this 10 stars, I would. My husband, who earned his masters degree in WW2 history, was interested in learning more about the Battle of the Bulge; so we decided to try this tour (from Brussels to Bastogne). What a fabulous choice! Wolf was fabulous and so knowledgeable. He listened attentively to what we were interested in seeing and doing. He was more concerned with pleasing us and delivering what we wanted than what he wanted to show us. Wolf definitely went above and beyond. For anyone interested in WW2 history, would highly recommend this tour. Worth every minute and every penny!

Outstanding Guide for WWII Bastogne - My husband was looking for the site where the 17th Airborne Division fought during the Battle of the Bulge. His father fought and was wounded in Bastogne during the Battle of Dead Man's RIdge. This unit was sent into the region ahead of Patton's arrival and suffered heavy casualties. There is not a lot of information available regarding this small division, but our guide Istvan knew about them. As we started the day, Istvan gave my husband a pin he had with the 17th's logo of the Golden Talons. We looked for more of the pins to bring home to family members, but we could not find any at any of the museums.
The day tour Istvan designed for us was outstanding. It was moving experience to stand at the memorials placed in the beautiful countryside acknowledging these brave men who fought in Belgium. And our last stop was quite a surprise when he took us to see a memory wall dedicated to the 17th in General McAuliffe's Bastogne War Rooms. Thank you Istvan for creating such a memorable experience. We could not have asked for more.

An unforgettable experience - This tour was by far one of the most interesting and unforgettable tours we’ve ever experienced. There were only 4 of us on the tour. Istvan, our guide, asked what we were most interested in. As we were all very familiar with the 101st airborne, he decided to add in a visit to the 101st airborne museum. It was actually one of my favorite parts of the tour. I could go on and on about what an incredible experience the whole day was. Visiting Bastogne was what prompted our trip to Belgium and Amsterdam in the first place. And this tour was by far our best experience of the entire trip. Istavan was a great guide. Not only very knowledgeable, but kind and personable.

Wonderful and inspiring tour - István picked me and my son up at our hotel in Brussels. As he drove us to Bastogne he talked about the Battle to see our level of knowledge and interest. My son is a former armor officer so he started at the tank museum. We went to the main museum and monument all the while discussing the battle. He took us to several surrounding villages in order to understand what took place. We spoke about the battle as we drove from place to place. He answered every question and made sure we were satisfied. He prepared a great lunch and after our tour we stopped at a great restaurant in La Roche. We had a fun and interesting day! He is an outstanding historian and tour guide.

Easy, Quality and Tailored Experience - Our day exceeded our expectations! Istvan was knowledgeable, adapted our experience based on our interests, and made sure that our experience was a great one. Each of our stops was enhanced by Istvan providing context and insights as well as Istvan making sure that we got the most out of each stop. He also listened to our group’s interests and conversations and recommended adjusting our day so that we could squeeze in seeing a Panther that was not a part of the experience which capped off a wonderful day. Even beyond the Battle of the Bulge experience we all enjoyed a fun and engaging time with Istvan through out the trip.

Wonderful Tour - The Wolf was wonderful guide and adapted the tour for a rainy day. He shared his knowledge and helped us navigate the museums with ease. We visited the American Cemetery at Henri-Chapelle as an additional stop, which everyone appreciated.

Best Bastogne Tour!!! - This was the best tour. Ishtvan was fabulous, patient and flexible. He personalized our tour to go to Luxembourg to pay homage to the greatest General of WW2. General George S. Patton. The American cemetery was truly beautiful and while there they played Taps and the US Anthem. Ishtvan took us to many different museums, battlefields, troop barracks and the foxholes in the Ardennes Forrest. We had an amazing experience and Ishtvan never rushed us, we saw everything we could see in one long day. He has a very comfortable vehicle and provides apart from his wonderful knowledge, great snacks and cold drinks. If I could give him a 20 out of 10 I would!! Highly recommend this great experience. We hope to see our new friend István when we return again to Europe.

Bastogne private tour with awesome guide - This tour was an absolutely amazing experience. It was very convenient with hotel pick up and drop off and also was very customizable to your interests. Istvan is very accommodating, personable, knowledgeable (Masters in History ) and just a genuinely nice guy. Being able to see the museums and various other sites with a historian to answer questions and give perspective one on one was invaluable. This tour makes for a long day but especially for history lovers I couldn’t recommend it enough. A bonus for me was talking history with Istvan while driving the travel legs to and from Brussels and getting a perspective from someone whose family has lived in Hungary going back generations.This was definitely my most favorite experience while in Belgium!
