Wonderful tour of bath with an Austen twist - you won't be disappointed! - I visited Bath during the bank holiday weekend in early May with a group of friends and Jim provided the most amazing, informative, fun and interesting tour to our group. The tour was wonderfully personalised as we had a huge Jane Austen fan with us and Jim really took the time to point out some key highlights. There were also lots of fun Bridgerton facts too. Jim has such a vast knowledge of Bath's history and architecture but delivers it with such a fun and engaging manner. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bath, particularly any Austen or Bridgerton fans - you won't be disappointed but just be prepared for a good old chuckle along the way. Thank you Jim for making our visit extra special.

Excellent tour guide - What an amazing weekend and Jim McPhee’s tour of Bath was just incredible and a real highlight. His local knowledge and enthusiasm really made the tour personable and the time we spent together flew by. His personal touch tailoring it towards my love of Jane Austen was wonderful. Thank you so much Jim, we all had the best time.

Wonderful University Group Experience - We were lucky enough to take two excellent tours (on a sunny day in February no less!) with guides Jim and Andy. We had chosen to do the Literary Icons and Bath in Tv and Film tours with a group of 40 University students and both guides tailored their tours to our group with heaps of interesting facts and information. The students were very engaged and the guides were only too happy to answer questions and share interesting stories. We also had some travel disruption heading to Bath which meant we were late arriving to our tours but the guides couldn't have been more understanding and accommodating. Thank you Andy and Jim, I'm already looking at dates to book in for our next trip!

Pre trip call - Little did I know when I went on the Internet to try and find the number of the Bath tourist office every number I tried sent me back to the start of the tour! Frustrated as I couldn’t believe such an historical city as Bath didn’t actually have a tourist office with a telephone number! (but then my grandchildren Tell me I’m out of touch) I looked at tour guides listed of Bath and by chance telephoned a number and to my utter delight Jim, clearly very experienced private tour guide very kindly took me on a whistle stop telephone tour and even sent me a page of all the delights of the city and pointed out the Bath delights, age appropriate for the grandchildren. Furthermore, he gave me all the insider info, the fun little anecdotal stories and quirky places to visit.. Can’t think why the Bath city information office don’t employ Jim! We’re well prepared for our Bath adventure thanks to Jim McpheeI wouldn’t have any hesitation in recommending him should anybody want an insider exclusive tour?

Our guide Jim was excellent and I cannot recommend Bath Walking Tours highly enough. - After taking two American couples on a birdwatching holiday around Somerset my clients wanted a more general guided tour of Bath with an expert guide on the city. Boy we hit the jackpot with Jim from Bath Walking Tours. Jim quickly got the level of information exactly right for the group mixing history humour and personal anecdotes as we walked for two hours around the beautiful city. It was a cold afternoon however Jim knew where we could warm our hands and where loos were if required (they were!) I cannot recommend Bath Walking Tours highly enough. Exceptional Private Tour with Jim – A Must-Do in Bath! - If you’re visiting Bath and want an unforgettable experience, book a tour with Jim! Our private tour with him was nothing short of amazing. He’s incredibly personable, weaving fascinating stories and facts into every stop we made. Jim struck the perfect balance in pace for our group of four, ensuring we never felt rushed while covering so much ground. From the city’s rich history to its role in filming Bridgerton, from wartime stories to stunning architecture, he brought it all to life with incredible detail. Not only did Jim share fantastic restaurant recommendations, but he also pointed out the best photo spots and even knew all the hidden toilets (a lifesaver!). This tour was a highlight of our trip, and Jim is truly a gem. If you want to experience Bath like an insider, he’s your guy. Highly recommend! A wonderful start to our time in Bath - James is a great tour guide, with knowledge on architecture and history. I recommend going on a tour with him the first day you arrive in Bath so you can get his recommendations about where to go during your stay. He told us about several things we never would have known about. Highly recommend!
