It holds the title of the tallest statue in Malaysia and is the second tallest Murugan statue globally, following the Salem Muthumalai Murugan Statue in Tamil Nadu, India.
- Sri Shakti Temple - This temple is constructed in strict adherence to the sacred Hindu Vedas and Aagamas. Its design includes three concentric corridors that guide devotees in a serene procession leading to the Main Moolasthanam (sanctum sanctorum). A notable feature is an island showcasing the rare sculptural technique known as Thundu Pattirippu Pathroba Pathram, inspired by the Sri Subramanyar shrine in the Bragatheeswarar Temple Complex in Tanjore, South India. Led by the esteemed Shivasri A. P. Muthukumara Shivachariyaar, a respected spiritual and religious leader, the Sri Shakti Temple is a significant Hindu landmark in Malaysia.
- Bukit Malawati - Bukit Melawati (Melawati Hill) in Kuala Selangor served as the administrative center and stronghold of the Selangor Sultanate during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. A heavily fortified fort was constructed on its summit during Sultan Ibrahim’s reign from 1782 to 1826 to resist the Dutch. The fort fell to the Dutch in 1784 and was renamed “Altingsburg Fort” after the Dutch governor-general. However, Sultan Ibrahim recaptured it in January 1785 in a daring night attack with warriors from Pahang and mercenaries from Permatang. This victory marked the first time a local Sultan successfully reclaimed his fort from a foreign power. Today, Bukit Melawati houses relics of the past, including the fort’s protective walls.
- Kuala Selangor Firefly Park - Fireflies (Kelip-Kelip in Malay) in Kuala Selangor belong to the Lampyridae family, part of the largest insect order, Coleoptera. These lampyrids have intrigued humans for centuries, becoming integral to mythology, folklore, fashion, medicine, and literature. Their captivating light display, used for sexual communication between males and females of a species, is what draws scientific interest and captivates observers. Each species develops a unique mating signal to avoid confusion with others in the area, differing in light color, pattern, flash duration, and whether the display occurs in flight or while resting.
