- Istana Negara - Istana Negara, or the National Palace, serves as the official residence of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, the head of state of Malaysia. The new palace, inaugurated in 2011, is situated on Jalan Duta, replacing the former Istana Negara. It spans a complex area of 97.65 hectares, featuring 22 domes, and is divided into three main sections: the formal, royal, and administrative components.
- National Mosque (Masjid Negara) - Masjid Negara, Malaysia’s National Mosque, stands as a national symbol of Islam. It includes a main prayer hall surrounded by 48 smaller domes and is located northwest of the old railway station, a few hundred meters from the end of Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin.
Covering 13 acres, the National Mosque can accommodate up to 15,000 people and is reminiscent of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, with abstract shapes and geometric latticework in its roofing and ironworks. The Grand Hall is the most intricate part of the mosque, adorned with verses from the Quran on its walls.
- Merdeka Square - Merdeka Square is undoubtedly Kuala Lumpur’s most famous landmark. Also known as Dataran Merdeka, it is located in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building (the former State Secretariat). Directly in front is the Royal Selangor Club, and to the north is St. Mary’s Church, one of Malaysia’s oldest Anglican churches.
- Petronas Twin Towers - The Petronas Towers (Malay: Menara Berkembar Petronas), also referred to as the Petronas Twin Towers or colloquially as the KLCC Twin Towers, are a pair of interconnected 88-story supertall skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, reaching a height of 451.9 meters (1,483 feet). From 1998 to 2004, they held the title of the tallest buildings in the world until surpassed by Taipei 101. The Petronas Towers remain the tallest twin skyscrapers globally and were the tallest buildings in Malaysia until 2019, when The Exchange 106 overtook them. The Petronas Towers are a prominent landmark of Kuala Lumpur, along with the nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower and Merdeka 118, and are visible from many locations across the city.
