A surreal desert adventure with a few hiccups—but totally worth it! - We were a group of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids) and booked this tour hoping for a unique experience—and it absolutely delivered. From the moment we were picked up in a private van from our hotel in Cairo, the journey felt like the start of something special. The 3–4 hour drive to the oasis town was okay.
🍽️ Lunch Experience
Once we arrived, we were taken to a local restaurant for lunch. The food was okay—nothing memorable—but the real surprise came when the server (sounded like the restaurant owner?) asked us to pay $10 per person, despite our tour being all-inclusive. He insisted we pay and “call the tour operator to get the money back.” Thankfully, we had a travel SIM (highly recommended!) and were able to reach our operator, who promised to resolve it. Before we left, the server returned the money, so it worked out—but it was an awkward moment that could’ve been avoided.
🚙 Desert Safari & Camping
We were split into two jeeps—one per family. Only one of the drivers spoke English, but both were incredibly kind and accommodating. The English-speaking driver made sure we understood the plan at each stop, which helped a lot.
🌌 Camping Under the Stars
This was our first time camping—and doing it in the White Desert made it unforgettable. The drivers cooked us a delicious dinner, lit a bonfire, and entertained us with drums and a flute-like instrument. Other groups joined in, and it turned into a magical evening of music and laughter.
🏜️ Morning in the Desert
Waking up surrounded by surreal white mushroom-shaped rocks and finishing our 1-2 job in the middle of nowhere was humbling. It made us appreciate the comforts of home in a whole new way.
✅ Final Thoughts
Despite the lunch hiccup, the overall experience was fantastic. The desert landscapes, the warmth of the guides, and the joy of sleeping under the stars made this a trip we’ll never forget.

White desert camp from Mauritius - We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The location was excellent for both visiting and overnight camping. Our safari driver was incredibly friendly and prepared delicious meals for us.

Great and very memorable trip!! Far exceeded expectations! - Fantastic 2 day trip!! The team at Touritos was very responsive and helpful from the very beginning. They addressed my queries speedily, and were able to accommodate to my needs, which really enhanced the overall experience! The Black & White desert are not as world-renowned as some of the other Egyptian sites, but trust me, you would NOT want to miss it!! It's like entering into a different planet! Do add this into your Egyptian itinerary, and let Touritos help you get it done. You won't regret it!

It's the best tour I've ever had. - We were impressed by the spectacular scenery, the numerous activities, the perfect starry sky, the tranquility of the night, the delicious food and above all the wonderful hospitality of the tour guides! Before the tour started, I was not sure if I should spend more time sightseeing the ruins than I did on a desert tour in a limited time (I had been on a desert tour in Dubai), but I was glad I joined. I'm very satisfied with that. The family was overjoyed. This tour company (touritos)
is really recommended. We had a little trouble, but they were very kind to help us, and although the start time was late, they provided all the activities in 2 days, and it was hospitality that I really wanted to tip (there was no coercion at all). The at-home restaurant that took me to lunch was delicious and kind, and there was no pressure to buy souvenirs. He was very happy to buy them a little. Thank you so much, Mr. Gamal and Mr. Mohammad, our guides!

Incredible Desert Adventure! - I had an amazing time! The Black & White Desert was stunning, and Crystal Mountain was truly unique. The views were breathtaking, and we took tons of photos! The guides were friendly and made everything so easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a memorable experience in the desert!

Beyond all our expectations ! 😍 - An experience we will never forget 🤩 - We only had 5 days to visit Egypt, and Touritos help us so much to enjoy the best of this amazing country!
Our guide, Gamal, was super responsive with our demand (we wanted to do a bit more that what the tour was proposing). He organized for us the best tour we could have expected (Day 1 = an authentic underground cave, an amazing moment in the Saharian Desert dunes, a night in an Oasis lost in the middle of the desert
Day 2 = a walking trip in a canyon of the Black Desert, a magic moment in a natural spa in the middle of nowhere, a lunch in a local farm, the discovery of the White Desert with its amazing canyon view and the white "mushrooms" of chalk rocks, the visit of Crystal Mountain, sandbording in a crazy dune of the desert and last but not least (the show climax) ...a traditional diner and a night in the middle of the desert in a tent ! 😍😍😍)

Gamal is probably the nicest guy of the country: we shared so much together and made a true friend who is more than welcome in our house in France ❤️❤️❤️
Our trip would have never been the same without him and without Touritos. After the experience, when we were back in Cairo, Gamal gave us the best advices to enjoy the city and even called one of his colleague (Mohamed a.k.a. "Mojito") to help us do all the pyramids of Giza, Dahchour and Saqqarah + some extras (traditional boat diner on the Nile, Khân al-Khalili by night - the Cairo souk/bazaar, and the different markets of perfumes, spices, papyrus and carpets) in only 1 day (which is an exploit in only 14 hours! 😎). Once again, our guide from Touritos, Mohamed, was such a nice guy and we had amazing and unforgettable moments together ❤️❤️
If you want to be sure to have the best possible experience in Egypt, don't hesitate to call Touritos, they will go beyond your expectations!

Lifetime experience - Experience to remember forever. Scenic nature is at the level of world wonders. Service and organisation is perfect. Highly recommend to join once in Cairo. Secure enough time in advance.

Awesome Desert Adventure - Amazing trip. I cannot put this into words. Mr. Amir is warm, compassionate, loves Egypt and makes you feel like you made the right choice to chose this trip. He brought us fresh baked bread to start the trip and communicated through out when needed. The gentlemen at the oasis resort gave a warm greeting, his staff provided a warm meal and great hospitality. The tour guide was Qamar/Badar. Trust me you cannot be in better hands. He has fantastic driving skills, made the trip fun, taught me to sandsurf, and I went down the first time like a pro! He also can cook exceptionally well. I am a foodie and everything was fresh, organic and good quality. Unfortunately in spite of this wonderful experience, I have to take a point off for two reasons. This in no way is a reflection on Mr. Amir, the host at the oasis, or Qamar/Badar. It was the driver who took us to the desert resort and brought us back. He did not smile nor did he have a welcoming presence. We all tried to get him to loosen up a bit and make small talk. He had no interest in that and the journey was long. He also was very directive when it came to breaks. We told him the women’s restroom was out at one of the locations. While that was not his fault, he was nonchalant. He helped me get a cab back to Zamalek. When I asked him if he confirmed that the driver knew how to get there he did not. The cab driver told me he did not know the place. We had to stop three times for directions. So that’s why I had to take a point off. Note: if you are coming from Zamalek, work with Mr. Amir on the return transportation. Otherwise I recommend.

This operator is a scam.... - This operator is a scam. Been trying to contact them on the day and even before the tour but no response. Even the viator support team contacted them but still no response. Avoid this operator ‘Touritos’.
